GenTLe 1,511 Posted July 1, 2015 ...except for putting it on the wrist and give a feedback I mean Personally I go through these steps: 1- remove bracelet/strap and clean them (bracelet with soap+ultrasonic cleaner+WD40; strap with some soap and water and then let it dry in a cool place and grease it with seal fat). 2- check that the caseback is enough tighten and then wash the watch head with soap water and an old toothbrush 4- try to remove scratches with some abrasive paste and dremel or rebrush the scratched brushed parts like the buckle 4- open the watch and regulate it with timegrapher 5- remove the crownguards if it is a Pam, extract the crown and grease the gaskets, then also grease the case back gasket 6- close the case tight and check all the other screws 7- put back the bracelet/strap (and regulate the bracelet is needed) Do you do something else I am forgetting? Thanks, GenTLe
kennycoder 97 Posted July 1, 2015 I just wear them. If I like the piece, then I might go through the trouble of fixing/cleaning minor issues. Pretty much as when receiving the watch from the TD.

WatchDog21 3,345 Posted July 1, 2015 Set the time and date Politely post a thank you thread Couldn't agree more. Even if the other 59,999 members don't look at it. IMO it is just some common courtesy.

Well, this is the standard (the feedback) or it should be at least. I was asking manly about the watch itself.
Daywatch 4 Posted July 1, 2015 Pretty much sums it up - sooner or later. Take some own pics; wear it to check how reliably it runs;

Irishcain 0 Posted July 2, 2015 Put it through an entire service, stripped down, inspected, cleaned, oiled and assembled. Case is polished and the bracelet is cleaned a few times then put through the autoclave (bit of a germophobe I'm afraid, lol. I can't even wear straps that others have worn). Of course, I do the same thing for a watch coming from a TD, so I guess I'm just all around crazy, lol.

UmpaHimself 223 Posted July 2, 2015 Set the time and date Politely post a thank you thread +1 I usually wipe it with a microfiber to get off any of the previous owners sweat and dead skin. Make sure it's running properly. Sometimes if it has a transparent caseback and there is noticeable smudges I will open and clean, then re-grease the gasket. I dont have a timegrapher and if it's working I'm not really trying to fuck with it.

It makes the leather soft a bit darker and also water resistant:)
