Pharmo 33 Posted July 16, 2015 Thought I would share this with my fellow enthusiasts... 2 years ago I couldn't even alter a watch strap and now look at me! Feel chuffed just changed my first capacitor last night. I bought a beautiful Seiko kinetic (cost me £25) but it had the dreaded 2 second step which basically means the capacitor needs changing. Seiko want approx. £100 to do it. There are people on eBay who would do it for about £35. However after watching a few videos online, I tackled it myself and it is very easy to do..Here is the video guide I used.. The 5M62 capacitor cost me £13.50 and the plastic/fine tip metal tweezers about £3 in total. No bad. Some proof just in case you don't believe me! And the finished product fully working!! Kcore 0 Posted July 16, 2015 Nice job. I think you have a first on the forum with repairing an electronic watch. BTW, are you now taking in Watchfinder's overflow?
WatchDog21 3,345 Posted July 16, 2015 Great ambition and job done. Can't say I would be so adventurous at first but after seeing this I think I can do it if or when the time comes.

shokka9 2 Posted July 16, 2015 Nice work, I have a Seiko in a similar condition. I don't wear it, but I may fix it using the same method. I've just replaced the battery and speaker on an iPod Touch 5th gen, so this should be a little easier :P
