Problem removing bracelet links on Rolex DSSD - screws stuck

Recommended Posts

Kangol

Hi

I have just received a Rolex DSSD from Toro which looks lovely.

I needed to take a couple of links out of it and bought some tools this morning. I managed to undo two screws and remove a link but still need to remove at least one more link. The problem is no other screws will undo. They come out about 2mm but then get really tight won't come out any further. I have tried screwing them back in and out again but they still get stuck on the way out.

Has anyone else ever had this problem and got any tips?

Thanks

K

Make sure they are unscrewed totally and then use a pair of needle nose pliers just grab the screw shaft and with abit of force they will slide out

That's the problem, they stop turning and won't come out any further.

The two screws I did manage to do were fine and i used pliers once they were loose but the rest seem to get totally stuck - won't turn any more and won't pull out.

Soak the bracelet in some wd40

WD40 or try using a hairdryer on the threaded side of the link (take the bracelet off the watch first!). A little heat will often help free these things.

Take the bracelet off and soak in Baby Oil. Works for me!

Thanks. How does the bracelet come off the watch face?

Read the thread regarding how to do a quality inspection on a rep when it first comes in, just some tips there. However I'd get a very fine cloth to place around it first then use fine pliers or needle nose. WD40 is your friend.
