wat44 0 Posted November 10, 2012 And you should read the thread before posting... I have two breitling watches (although I'd flick them if I could be bothered)

James. 4 Posted November 10, 2012 Pay no attention to Baldrick's photos. The odds are he'd be able to photography a turd and it'd look admirable. I'm in the same boat, never had a TAG, none IMO look good enough to want to buy. The style doesn't appeal to me. The bigger concern is your lack of Jaeger, Vach, patek or AP... UmpaHimself 223 Posted November 10, 2012 This and the Monaco are the only two that interest me but I also agree the Link is a great rep. They do chronos right.
wat44 0 Posted November 10, 2012 Ive got ap (rubens barrachello and RO) and patek (nautlius) and had VC , I would also buy a decent reverso...
Chr1st0c 0 Posted November 10, 2012 Should I then ask the question..... Should I own a PAM ??? They all look the same to me. If I put a Tag aquaracer, Monaco, Grand Carrera, Carrera and Link next to each other, there is a DISTINCT difference between them... Not So ? So I guess it all up to what you like and the style ow watch you like. I guess your watch collection is just as empty without a TAG as mine is without a PAM Christo
wat44 0 Posted November 10, 2012 Pam111 and Pam183 look just the same... Pams are more different from the crowd than tags are - the crown guard alone sets them apart
Dr Yan 8 Posted November 10, 2012 TAG are to Swiss watches like Opel are to German cars.
fe22ari 0 Posted November 10, 2012 TAG are to Swiss watches like Opel are to German cars. Sent using The Force
Chr1st0c 0 Posted November 10, 2012 TAG are to Swiss watches like Opel are to German cars. Is'nt Porche also german .... And they all look the same too... It the engine in the back that sets them apart .. Not so ? All I know it that my Rep 'Opel' is just as replicated as your 'Other german' "swiss watch" Frankly .... I dont get this watch snobbery in a forum filled with people that all collect REPLICA watches
Corv99 2 Posted November 10, 2012 anyway get a Carrera Day Date, a monaco and then a Jaeger Tourby........................................................Done!
wat44 0 Posted November 11, 2012 Not snobbery. Tags just haven't much to offer in their designs. Heuer had more to offer, and the occasional top end model is interesting... But mostly, there's not much to see.
diegosaenz 0 Posted November 11, 2012 I honestly think they are fugly.
964boy 54 Posted November 11, 2012 Rolex - check Panerai - check IWC - check Omega - check U.N. - check Zenith - check Mont B. - check (havent seen the right Jaeger, Patek, V.C. B&R or A.P. yet) which brings me to TAG.... YES be worried
Heisenberg 0 Posted November 11, 2012 Have you seen this Tag Link yet? http://www.rwg.bz/board/index.php?showtopic=36534
offshore 0 Posted November 11, 2012 Can't really call Tags' "Swiss" anymore,........ anyway...seeing as they will have a Seiko motor into the future! More like Japiss, or Swijap. Never did much for me tbh, with maybe a couple of close to classic exceptions. O/S
vonGluberschmidt 0 Posted November 11, 2012 one of the closest to gen reps on the market. not too spendy. and about 98% accurate.
Luthier 1 Posted November 11, 2012 This is the only TAG you have to be afraid of...
Chr1st0c 0 Posted November 11, 2012 Only you Luth !!!! Congrats on those 15000 posts bud!
Luthier 1 Posted November 11, 2012 Oh, shit... 15,000... Am I closer to THAT tag??? OK, happy 15K, Luth!!! Glad to see you back, Dave!!! And I'm not alone.
Frankt8242 1 Posted November 11, 2012 The only watch by that company that I have any interest in is the Heuer Monaco chrono....WITHOUT "Tag" on the dial... As an old time TZ'er, watch snob, Tag has always "left me cold" as a "wannabe" high end watch... I used to feel the same way about Breitling too, but I outgrew it when the really nice SFSO's showed up a few years ago.... Sadly, no decent rep of the McQueen watch currently exists....
