franck muller watches

Recommended Posts

t..

hey all,

i'm brand new here and am just getting into reps. based on what i've read, it seems as though completely skipped the 'noob' rep progression of rolex then omega, etc. and jumped straight to franck muller. for whatever reason, i noticed these watches an can't get enough of them.

on route from mary currently is a FM Casablanca Chronograph rep on a dark brown croc strap with a 7750 movement that's supposed to be one of the better FM reps out there:

i'm likely going to start asking advice on some different brands very soon (i really like some omegas, PAM's and IWC's), but for now i was curious if any of you guys had any experience with FM reps and could maybe recommend which are best and which to stay away from? also which movements best suit these watches (if that's even a question that makes sense).

i'd really like to also get one of the conquistador cortez models as well as a long island crazy hours.

any help would be appreciated.

thanks a lot guys!

Hi T

Welcome to RWG. You have found a great place.

I really like the FM's but don't see many here. I have one on my wishlist. There is something very appealing about them. They are different. I like the unusual. I will look forward to seeing your watch and reading your reviews. There are members here who have them, but they aren't the usual watches I see here. The one you ordered looks like a beauty. You may also want to read up on the 7750 movement.

I know there are members here who have them because I have seen the photographs, so I am sure you will get some responses in this thread. I like the PAMs and the IWCs also. You will see lots of PAM reviews here. I love mine and find them to be great watches.

Warmest Welcome...if you like reps you will love RWG. :D

All the Best,

Arenaria

Welcome to the forum. You're in the right place as this is a great resource.

I like FM as well for a lot of the same reasons as Aren. Timesshop has a few Conquistador Kings in their end of the year promo...

Lowest price I was able to find. I almost bought a non-chrono model on a SS bracelet. Nice movement and from the photos, seems to be good quality. The listing says something about '1 piece available' but even after a while I found they were still available for purchase (I took that to mean you could only purchase one at that price).

Good luck in your search, and please do post pictures.

I like FM too - for some odd reason I don't actually own one, however. I must correct that.

The Crazy Hours models are based on heavily modified 21J movements and appear to be remarkably reliable given what they do. To be honest, I've not heard of major problems with any of them - but hopefully someone around here is an FM expert and will pop up to confirm that

FD you have the RG tourbillon I want to buy. Photo one and two. It is beautiful.

I think Robert had one. Maybe you bought the only one. I recognize the photo.

How do you like it?

It is beautiful.

I prefer the models without the mixed up hour numbers, but they are all lovely.

Great collection you have.

Thanks for sharing.

Is the hour hand on the watch changing to the positions that are printed, or are they running like a normal watch. on the crazy hour models?

a quick search on the youtube answered my question

that is crazy :)

thanks guys, i PM'd guanaco.

do any of you guys know if they're putting as much care into repping FM's as they are PAM's (for example)?

if so, what would be considered the best 1:1 FM rep? (i know there isn't really such a thing, but i mean, from a dealer marketing perspective)

thanks!

oh my...

I really can't have the mixed up hours version.

I need to be able to see the hands and know where they are pointing.

I don't want to do the time warp, I just want to be able to see the time,

and would like to do it at a glance...

The mixed up hours is pretty. It is also interesting, but the mixed up hours is not for me.

I would still like to know the results of your research T, so please, kindly post. :D

TIA

All the Best,

Arenaria

Gee T, I wish I knew, but I don't.

Congratulations on the new watch. Wear it in good health.

I can't wait to see the pix.

I am sure someone here will be able to give you an informed reply.

Guanaco gave me some good info in the Shout Box. (Thanks kindly)

He seems to be the Go To person for the FM's. He really knows the FM's.

This thread will bump again with this post.

Did anyone get to the bottom of the 'best version' of the FM crazy hour?

I have 'seen' two versions of movement, a manual and a 21J Auto, while scowering around. I have also seen (across a whole host of websites) various qualities claimed...

Anyone got an opinion between the two movement that (i think) are available?

I'm, in particular, after the S/S Curvex Jumbo, Crazy hour. White face, Black numbers (which I think will suit a brown croc strap).

Like Dutchy, FM got me into reps too. Except so far I've only got one in my collection. Great quality rep though. And no problems thus far, with over a year now of almost daily wear.
