Restoring my father's Seiko -What would you do?

The movements in these old Seikos are robust and easy to work on. I've serviced literally hundreds of them over the last 25 years. Anyone who is worth a damn at all in watch repair can service this one for you.

That's great to hear! I'm going to try the polywatch tomorrow and if the crystal gets a little better I'll wear it out for a day or two to see how it runs...
