It has returned home at last after a stay in the northeast... ok skip it.. that is another thread that isn't going too well at the moment. In my search for a watchmaker that may be able to help I came across this interview with Spencer Klein back in 2014 http://wornandwound....iko-specialist/ He has a youtube channel as well here https://www.youtube.com/user/spkslk From all I was reading it seems that Spencer is somewhat the guru for vintage Seiko's and is based in Colorado. Anyway I have reached out to him about the possibility of still getting mine repaired. I was shocked that I had a reply in less than 15 min. He has offered to do a "filmed evaluation" that he will post on his Youtube channel and it will only cost the postage for the shipping back and forth. Should it show promise then I have his rates and can proceed. He is a VERY busy guy and has indicated that his backlog is pretty serious; a watch arriving today would be done this next March/April. The turnaround time is really no big deal since I can't wear it now anyways so I believe it will be heading to Colorado very soon. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Having read different articles, reviews and a few post from the forum he is at I gained the same comfort level and confidence that I had when I shipped my Elgin off to Terry at Watchrepair.cc in Oregon. If Spencer can't fix it then I really don't think anybody can. The article from worn&wound that I linked in the first post really sums it all up. It shows how he got started, what motivates him, his success, customer commitment, his grails and even things to look for when he buys a vintage watch.
