Akira 0 Posted January 21, 2011 I tried the first time to repaint a dial. Test object was the Omega Deville I bought for my girlfriend. I guess it wasn't about the size of the watch, but the highly flashy dial, which made her uncomfortable. TBH I didn't noticed it when I purchased the watch So this is the watch at the beginning 1. Remove the dial from the case and movement. Remove the hands 2. Remove the hour-markers and Logo 3. Remove the dial paint (I put the dial in a soap bath and smoothly polished the paint off after) 4. Airbrush the dial...Sorry no photos of the actual act 5. Put everything back together I airbrushed it about 4 times....different brush, paint what so ever. It's impossible for me to get it even. Always some flaws. Even more difficult was the "writing" on the dial, since neither die hour markers nor the date indicator are aligned correct. I tried it as well 4 times.... Fuck, it nearly made me snap I had every problem possible to have, glue on datewheel, second hand sticking on minute hand, date not changing at 12 and so on.... It looks kinda vintage and "self-made" to me.... I'm not 100% satisfied, but it's the best I can do so far. I hope my girl likes it anyways. The date on the watch is our upcoming anniversary.
