Miyota 8215 question

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I have to buy a new miyota 8215 as i completely trashed my last one trying to repair it and looking for a missing piece of my omega 8500 decorative plate which was never found :titanic:

The watch I'm swapping the movement on is a PO and has date at 3.

Now the question is, i found this on e-bay which says date @ 4 but since i'm gluing a decal over the date wheel isn't it exactly the same?

Here it is:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Miyota-8215-automatic-watch-movement-N-O-S-date-4-quick-set-dial-27-7-mm-/361396959635?hash=item5424eff993:g:3xcAAOSw0JpV320M

The reason for using this instead of cousins is the huge price difference. More than double actually, and the seller seems ok.

Thanks

The dial dictates the date position so it will be fine from that perspective. Are you it is the same and will fit the case and the hands will fit?

Well it's a V6F PO so it uses the Miyota 8215 movement (I'm pretty sure since i followed this guide to tear it appart: http://www.rwg.bz/board/index.php?showtopic=81872). I think the hands size is the same and not modded on the movement.

Am i wrong in assuming this?

If so, how could i get past that?
