Gen SMP

Well I picked up this beauty from a reputable pawn shop in Liverpool. I missed out on one last year so I left them with my number and asked them to contact me if one of similar quality came in. It's a 2006 model that came boxed and with all paperwork/certificates.

I'm made up with the watch overall and it's lost 2 secs in 24hrs so it's well within acceptable limits.

Going down this route to buy a used gen is IMO far less risky than the minefield at Ebay. The watch is warranted for 12 months and I picked it up for the same price as three decent quality reps, personally, I've yet to see a full size auto go for as cheap as I paid on the bay, bit of a no-brainer for me really.

By the way, the bloke who owns the franchise is well known for his vintage Rolex collection, some of you may have seen him around on the gen forums, goes under the name of Milton.

Anyway, here's a couple of pics taken with my camera phone...no f stops here Ding...;)

Maybe a speedy, then that'd be it...Omega wise..

I have a hankering for a gen Pam but even used, they're so bloody expensive and I'm a tight arse at heart...;)

Nice one. Are we talking 3 $200 dollar reps or 3 $400 reps?

Beautiful watch I own the same one. I ended up putting the speedy style omega bracelet on mine as I liked it a little better than the Bond, but great buy

Always shed loads of these on eBay for that sort of price, perhaps a little less if you get lucky. Just got to be careful that you are able to verify it is gen and your landed. Have owned two of these, a 007 LE and chrono in the past.... all from US eBay. Just took my time, selected ones without any scratches on the crystal or bezel, and no major gouges on the case or bracelet and ones where the serial number was matching the gen warranty cards and made the sellers early offers that I knew were reasonable prices - quite often sellers were prepared to end the auction early for a reasonable price.

It was a bit of a gamble, I'm not sure I'd do it again, but I sold each and every one of those watches for a decent little profit. I was also lucky that I only got stung with customs charges on one of the watches. Wish I'd kept the chrono, but it wasn't quite perfect - the red on the chrono hands had faded to orange, so decided to sell it after about 6 months. I'm definitely tempted to pick another one up at some point though, but they are a tad more expensive now than when I bought them and I'm always more tempted by the newer versions with the gold Omega logo!
