Question about Breitling Navitimer

Hi Guys,

 

I'm looking into purchasing a Breitling but have a slight confusion.

I've noticed that with all the replicas, the outter numbers are never perfectly aligned like the genuine. For instance in the genuine, the outer dial has "60" where the hour is 24, versus the replica where "25" is aligned with the 24th hour.

 

Is this the tachymeter scale? Is it adjustable on the replicas?

 

Sorry if this is a newbie question but I can't figure it out.

Hello mate.

 

It's actually a slide rule, and it rotates (at least on the original - I'm sure it does on a rep, and your pic seems to confirm that )

+1 it rotates, its just on gen stock photo's they'll align it and set the hands to 10:10 before taking the picture. My Breitling reps rotate, nothing to worry about!

Any thoughts on which looks more authentic, and on the vendors?

Both are great watches. I bought my dad the Datora and he always gets compliments and questions about it. Some find the dial too busy, but i love it. Maybe someone can correct me, but i thought the Datoras dont come in 44mm, but only in 42 or maybe it was 42.5mm. The red circle doesn't seem as bold in one of the dealers watch picture compared to my dads.

Yes, they should be equally good. Some just do better QC; take pictures, and videos. Price wise- Robert, hand down.Might have to go through this on his site (http://s424.photobucket.com/home/time4direct/index) Not sure if he has that model available. I bought mine from Mary because i was a newbie and i didn't want to bother anyone else with my questions. I can def recommended her and Lay also seems to be some members favs.

I did, from all the reviews it seems like Datora is a more realistic replica. Going to order that tonight and will post pictures when I get it.
