nunu78 1,743 Posted January 9, 2016 So guys I wana know what's your guilty pleasure, when it comes to the watches and i strictly saying watches . So Onze be careful, we only gonna talk about the watches. For me it was Tag Heuer which made me end up here and even though my taste changes 180 degree since i've joined this place but i have no shame to admit that i still love the Tag Heuers, no matter what i read and what i've learned. I even decided to buy a genuine Grand Carrera calibre 17 or Calibre 36 so many times but due to wise advice from so many great members here, i have managed to stop. I've owned 4 replicas of Tag Heuer Carrera calibre 16 and aqua racer currently and sold many.I've even sold particular Tag twice and always ended up buying it again, while i'm writing this post there are two Tag Heuer calibre 1887 reps are in air from one of our TDs. So please do tell us what you guys think.
UmpaHimself 223 Posted January 9, 2016 I guess my Hublot was for a while. I want to sell it but nobody wants to buy it. I don't even dislike it, I just never wear it. I personally like the look of some Hublots, they have an interesting industrial look. But I would never buy a gen.
jmshen 0 Posted January 9, 2016 (edited) When I first really got into watches I was obsessed with the IWC 3714 silver dial with blue markings/hands. I thought it was the most beautiful thing ever. I was supremely confident that when I finally was making decent money that would be the first "splurge" purchase. It's actually fairly surprising how quickly I fell out of love with that watch (though am still in love with chronos). Nevertheless, I find I have this weird relationship with IWC. It's like I want to love their watches, even though very few appeal to me. Every new watch that comes out by them I really hope to be drawn to. As an addendum, when the 3904 came out I was tempted. But by then I had already changed my watch size tastes to things more manageable to my meager wrists. Hmm.... I should check to see if they've repped it. :P Edited January 9, 2016 by jmshen
Kernow 33 Posted January 9, 2016 Omega's!!! +1 Over a dozen, a mixture of reps and gens
NFleischer 4,355 Posted January 9, 2016 I always thought that is liking something that you know is pretty bad, for example potato chips. I wouldn't consider Omega a guilty pleasure . For me it would be a Swiss legend or Momo design. I'm actually thinking of buying one of the Momo's. Like a lot of these "fashion brands" their markdown is like 95%. greg_r 81 Posted January 9, 2016 Stabbing spammers in the eye with a rusty spork... Oh.. watches... um.... don't have any guilty pleasures there...
ag69 0 Posted January 9, 2016 Don't have any. Bought, over the years, all different brands and got introduced to new brands like Panerai, AP, Graham, B&R, UN... The list can go on like the energizer bunny!!
blookazoo 0 Posted January 9, 2016 I finally acquired my great grandfather's 1912 Waltham lever-set sidewinder pocket watch about 6 months ago. Works like a charm.....so i just wind it up and stare at it. maybe I'll wear it someday?
ellistyle1 0 Posted January 9, 2016 I would say design watches like Braun, Mondaine, Botta. I still like them, but don't have room for them.
the_frenchman 31 Posted January 9, 2016 Probably the Hublot Big bang rose gold and black ceramic bezel. This was my first ever rep , and a couple of versions of it since. I remember searching for this watch 6 or even 7 years ago it took me to Andrew's website and then to Robbies.....didnt had any clue about reps then. I was always searching for updates and new versions of this watches in their websites. And one day, i dont know how... I got with the trusted dealer list of RWG and then started reading this forum a couple years ago. Since then my tastes changed a lot and my knoweldge into reps as just growned up and up...and then become a member of this. At this moment i dont hold any of the Big Bangs anymore because i just dont like them anymore. But for a many years in the past this has been my guilty pleasure. WatchDog21 3,345 Posted January 9, 2016 I have to say that Seiko is my "guilty pleasure" and have 2 more on the list for this year. Even though my (gen) Tag CAU1119 is really at the limits of the smallest watch I wear I still love it. A rep Tag Aquaracer is one I still want to acquire. MrWhite 0 Posted January 9, 2016 Another vote for here for Hublot I like them but I haven't got any plans to purchase one at the moment, full yg day date aswel not that there's anything wrong with it but a solid (or plated where reps are concerned) watch is a real statement

the_frenchman 31 Posted January 9, 2016 This thread is cool, its reminding me of my first watches. Haha I forgot to tell the Pirelli Disk O gen watch was my first swiss made watch bought by myself. I remember i had a russian client that came into the shop twice and my eyes were stering at the watch trying to guess wich brand and model was that. Then i discover googleing that it was a Pirelli watch with a Swiss Ronda quartz. I had 2 versions of this and i really liked them.Unfortunately i sold both a couple of years ago. Maybe some day will get one just for fun in my collection....
Left Coast Guy 24 Posted January 9, 2016 I'm sure this will sounds like sacrilege to most, but I kinda feel like wearing a Rolex is cliche......like there's something gaudy and braggadocios about it because the brand is so recognizable. Its just a personal taste, but still a strong one for me. But when the DSSD D-Blue came out, I was kind of drawn to it. I passed it off for a while, but eventually decided to take a flier on a 21J version. To my dismay, I ended up loving it and wore more than any other watch for a good 4-6 months stretch before the date functional died (it was a cheapy after all). So now the guy that hated Rolex is in the market for the top version of the guadiest Rolex model made....

Wriggles 12 Posted January 9, 2016 To me guilty pleasure is liking something that you really shouldn't like.....kinda like if you were a huge Death metal fan but secretly also a closet Bieber fan . Someone please do the world a favour and shoot Bieber! I hate Rolex, with a passion. Everyone else seems to love them. Swore blind for years would never wear one, but for some reason I have had for a while a hankering for a DSSD, can't explain it, still hate Rolex but somehow it's calling to me......along with that fucking Cellini Prince. Damn you Greg_R!!!!
