Multijfj 2 Posted January 30, 2016 What's so bad about the metal strap ? I really want this 15400 but I would only have it with the metal strap. Will be disappointed if the strap is so bad I can't use it, as finding a replacement would be near impossible.

It is at least a bit more discreet that way...
kevnick80 0 Posted January 31, 2016 Where would you order the custom straps for this? Any idea of price? Thanks.
Godfathar 1 Posted February 1, 2016 Thanks to your review, I pulled the trigger on a full rose gold bracelet JF 14500, and ordered on the side the leather strap and buckle. Now I have been hearing from you and few others that the bracelet is a bit stiff, and few have submerged it in WD40 over night, or baby oil with what is referred to as spa treatment. I also had in the past the issue of re-sizing it, as the screws jammed on me with a TF 15400. My question, to you or to anyone else that could help, is this actually, since this is my first full rose gold bracelet, do you think giving the bracelet a spa treatment, or submerging it in a WD40 would ruin the gold plating on the bracelet? Thanks in advance

Thanks in advance I wore a yellow gold Sub from BP through the summer. I got it waterproofed and swam with it multiple times, in the sea (salt water). No gold wear at all. So I'm quite sure you will be fine!
Godfathar 1 Posted February 1, 2016 ^^ many thanks for your kind help. So you don't think there is a difference if using big amount of WD40 and submerging the bracelet in it over night compared to swimming in salt water..

So you don't think there is a difference if using big amount of WD40 and submerging the bracelet in it over night compared to swimming in salt water.. Not 100% sure since I've never used WD40 on any of my bracelets. You could try submerging just one gold plated link (one that you dont use) for a night and see what happens. Lagger 160 Posted February 6, 2016 I think baby oil would be better given the gold finish, I know it is VERY unlikely to take the gold off but it is a specialist degreasing chemical and may tarnish it (possibly) the one link suggestion is a great idea, but does anyone know if the plating is even on these things? Lev 6 Posted February 25, 2016 This is some serious AP porn right here and the pictures look exquisite. Did you use a basic smartphone camera for these because they're very crisp. I'm still debating whether I want to get a 15400 or a Submariner. Been bugging me for months now. I used to really hate APs for some reason and then about half a year ago, something just clicked and now I drool whenever I see a classic RO. As for the straps, what options does one have to replace it?

Kingdiver 0 Posted February 26, 2016 Nice you will be no wrong as long with Jacob straps man
Lagger 160 Posted February 27, 2016 Lev ...... I have both. ...the AP on leather is a amazing watch, better than a sub. ...but on a bracelet I think they are rubbish as they don't flex well and the sub is better if you want a bracelet

amv8 0 Posted August 31, 2016 (edited) hey man how do the bracelet feel on the watch? does it feel stiff? just received mine and yes its very stiff. WatchaholicMallorca 2 Posted August 31, 2016 What do you mean stiff bracelet? I have ss and the bracelet is great, obviously it isn't like any other bracelet as it stands up on its own, do you mean the deployment is stiff? I tap the pushers and the clasp springs open. I have ss and the bracelet is great, obviously it isn't like any other bracelet as it stands up on its own, do you mean the deployment is stiff? I tap the pushers and the clasp springs open. The fact that the bracelet stands up on its own makes it "stiff". Gen is more flexible with smooth edges (less rough/sharp). Daily wear helps loosen the bracelet links (making it more flexible and therefore less stiff) but this will also result in the RG plating wearing off where the mid-links rub against each other.
