WatchDog21 3,345 Posted February 7, 2016 I acquired this on my recent cruise over in Grand Cayman. I have to believe that taking these pictures was the most challenging for me and for what ever reason I have no idea. Between windy conditions, dust, lighting and even more dust this Astron really kicked me in the... well you know where. Anyway here are the specs: Part Number SSE033 Dial window material type Anti reflective sapphire Display Type Analog Clasp Deployment Buckle Case material Stainless steel Case diameter 44 Case Thickness 15 Band Material Stainless steel Band Color Silver Dial color Black Bezel function GPS Calendar Date Special features Chronograph, GPS, Tachometer Movement Automatic self wind Water resistant depth 100 Meters Now as I look at the specs it tells me that the dial is BLACK. This is what made the pictures a bit challenging. In certain light conditions you will swear it is a deep brown and in other conditions it is black. You be the judge. TheTinMan 13 Posted February 7, 2016 Gorgeous!! Is the word 'Astron' raised off the dial? I can swear I see shadowing in the pics. Either way, nice detailing and finishing on this one.

I swear that this dial can mess with your eyesight. Black / Brown, Raised vs Not. I am sitting here looking at it under a magnifying glass and still not 100% sure. I will leave it at this. It definitely has a raised appearance. This may be just the thickness of the application of the lettering; not raised to the degree of the "Seiko" which absolutely is but not plain old flat lettering. Somehow I was still not completely happy with my results, maybe it was the St Bernadus that I started to sip on at the end of the photo shoot. WOW, fantastic pictures That Astronaut is stunning. I see what you mean about the dial color. Hearty CONGRATS on the purchase Thanks E, I began to question my eyesight on the whole color thing. Now that I have a better grasp on it I think its kinda cool!
