Carpe_Diem 0 Posted February 11, 2011 (edited) Hi, i have joined RWG not long ago, and this can be considered as my very first official post. (apart from the introductory post) I have scoured the web in search for my first rep watch and i shortlisted these few. My preference would be a stainless steel case, black strap, with a faux tourby (cant afford a real one just yet, although i would love one) Also is there any other models that might fit my taste according to those i provided? Cast your vote! I would also love to hear why you prefer that particular model instead of the others, im open to suggestions or comments. Lastly, Thanks in advance for all your help and valuable input! Aren 27 Posted February 11, 2011 Hi Carpe Diem, Welcome. These are all nice. I really like your Lange selections. I also like the faux tourbillon, but would like to have a real one too. These are all lovely, so perhaps decide how you want to use it and determine what functions are important to you then check how the functions are in reps. I would choose a dealer from the trusted dealer list, regardless of the watch I liked best. Any of these watches would be a great choice. If I were to vote, I think I would choose watch #1. It has balance and the dial complications are more subtle. All the Best, Arenaria

JVK 0 Posted February 11, 2011 (edited) Personally, I'd scramble to get a faux tourby that looks the part (most have a "hand" or a rotating device), as opposed to a open balance wheel which isn't really eye-candy in the flesh (JMHO). I'd have a glance at PerfectClones & Puretime to pick a particular model, and then email Mary at WatchInternational to see if she can source it for you. I've seen some really nice pieces at a great price on Silix's site as well (under "Economy Watches) but I guess you've been there already If I had to choose... I'd pick #5 Best of luck mate! Sorry noob here, are you refering to the second hand on the watch? i realized some of the models are lacking it. Yes im intending to email mary after i made my choice, read lots of good feedback from fellow forumers.
greg_r 81 Posted February 11, 2011 None of the above. Faux tourbys are very unconvincing as a general rule.

Aren got one from Robert and it looks very nice -- I think it's got a bridge holding the "tourby" on the front, which makes it look much more convincing. I saw some nice Langes and Glashuttes on Silix's site. And then there's this: http://www.replica-watches-guide.com/forum...?showtopic=4926 I'm going to get one for me as soon as Mary's back on the move. The only noticeable flaw is the logo on the crystal (seems to have been fitted slightly askew), but Mary told me she can get a hold of a perfect one.
Carpe_Diem 0 Posted February 11, 2011 None of the above. Faux tourbys are very unconvincing as a general rule. Ya, i am aware of that, but unfortunately i can only go with the faux versions as the real ones cost almost 4-5 times as much.
Aren 27 Posted February 11, 2011 None of the above. Faux tourbys are very unconvincing as a general rule. I am not trying to convince anyone of anything Perhaps I am just easily amused...at least with watches. I just like watching the balance wheel movement on the face of my Lange. The gen tourbillons are really fantastic to watch.

Yes i saw that and i noticed the flaw too, thats why it is not one of my choices. It would be a great contender if the logo is aligned.
Baldrick 1 Posted February 11, 2011 Hmmm, difficult decision, the real ones cost almost 4-5 times as much. Methinks yer 'rithmetic might be just a little off there pardner, B)
Carpe_Diem 0 Posted February 11, 2011 Methinks yer 'rithmetic might be just a little off there pardner, Haha, nono, i meant real tourby, rep watch. The real, real ones would just remain a dream for me.

KBH 7 Posted February 11, 2011 number 6 or none of the above. I agree with Thunder. I don't like fake tourbies and I don't like reps of $100,000 watches.

After looking at it for a more extended period of time, don't ya think the time is abit hard to read? The hands sorta blend in to the clockwork in the background Me niether- don't like fake tourbys. How about the Lange Datograph chrono? Only a $30,000 watch, jejeje Is that a rep or gen? Frankly speaking, that looks a bit too "mature" for someone my age. WebWind 1 Posted February 12, 2011 Sorry, none of the above. If you really need touby on you watch, spare some money and get real flying tourbillon or get something different.
powderfreak 0 Posted February 12, 2011 Sorry, none of the above. If you really need touby on you watch, spare some money and get real flying tourbillon or get something different +1 Well, I think this won't help him much, since he said he wants a fake tourbi.... take the third then, people will overlook the "hole", if you are lucky . But please don't take number four. That's like a traffic accident for me: You don't want to, but you just have to stare....
