Well, the RG Lange Datograph is a dressy watch and if you're only 21 y.o., for example,

I can see why you might not want it. But if you're young, then the fake tourby looks even more out of place IMO.

They can cost $100,000 or more.

Carpe Diem,

I will try to make a short movie tomorrow.

I don't know if I can do this or not, but I will try.

I don't really think of my watch as a faux tourbillon.

I just think of it as a little window so I can see the movement.

I don't know what the gen of my watch would cost, but

neither would anyone else. I don't think anyone would know my Lange anyway.

Well, actually my German friends would know the name.

I don't think most people know what a tourbillon is, or what it looks like.

I am not trying to deceive anyone with any of my watches. I just like my watch.

I only know what the real tourbillon movements look like because I like to watch the youtube videos.

I actually like skeleton watches and find them fascinating.

The problem is, I can't see the time on the faces. The hands appear lost to me.

So my watch allows me to be able to look at part of the movement

and still see the time. :)

One of my favorite things to look at on my PAM Fiddy is the back.

I think I am a movement junkie.

All the Best

I wouldn't choose any of the ones you've posted, they all look pants, if you really want a tourby, sell or trade stuff and go for the best rep you can find, the Vacheron posted here is the nicest rep I've seen, but REMEMBER, tourbillons are rare and most watch-smiths will never have worked upon one and won't be keen to either, the genuine man'frs have skilled 'smiths that know how to work on these, and buying any tourbillon demands attention to servicing.

Also, if you're in your twenties and not working for Gordon Gekko, you're unlikely to carry one of these off when you meet a WIS

Thanks man,

Wow, i felt you said whats in my heart all along.

This is my exact thoughts when i think of purchasing my first faux tourby watch.

I first came here looking for skeleton watches, but i too decided its too complicated and maybe settle for a faux tourby.

And thanks for posting a vid that will aid me in making my decision.

Mary will be back in business tmr so i guess ill make my decision by tmr.

Regards

Hi Carpe,

I made a video today with my Canon camera.

I can't get it to play on the operating system I am using.

I can only get it to play on the Linux.

The Linux operating system is not always friendly.

It plays on VLC but not windows media player, so PB upload doesn't seem to work.

Maybe it is my camera, or even more likely, it is me.

I tried and failed. I am enlisting help and will try again. :bcake:

I will let you know. I will also look for a video on Youtube, but you won't get to see mine there.

For some reason mine looks better to me than most.

That may be because I get to see the rep itself.

Baldrick has some of the most amazing watch photos.

They are always splendid, so it is nice of him to post them.

Always a pleasure to see them.

All the Best,

Aren

I am bumping this thread.

I had a really difficult time with the video.

And I thought changing a watch strap was a challenge.

I failed again and again in both circumstances.

Prince Charming came along and offered to help a damsel in distress.

He did not know her or the person wanting the video, but he offered his assistance.

She sent the video to him, I think.

I am not entirely sure because I couldn't play it.

I am not sure what Prince Charming actually received.

I have a feeling he is a miracle worker and if something can be done...

he is the man to make it happen.

If Prince Charming can't turn the damsel's trash into treasure

it is because it is not possible.

Anyway a Big Thank You to Skathewatch for being so gallant and generous

regardless of how it goes.

All the Best,

Arenaria

Thank you so much Ska!

Sorry I couldn't get the camera to focus on the tripod.

I held it as still as I could.

I did the best my level best. A big thanks Ska...amazing!

You did a great job with my not so great (lousy) video.

Carpe, I hope you can see what you are looking for here.

This video wouldn't be here at all if not for the generosity of Ska.
