I'd Like to Pick Your Brains on this "Bieri" Swiss Made Watch

Hi, Gang!

I'd like to pick your brains for a few minutes if you don't mind, Gang, concerning this World War II - era watch I secured from the 'Bay a number of years ago. As you can see from the pics, it's labeled "BIERI" "(ANCRE)" and is Swiss Made; it came on the s/s expandable bracelet/strap, as you can see. Here's my question to you all: Has anyone ever heard of "Bieri Ancre" watch and knows anything about the watch's history or background?

I've tried "Goggling" this several times but really didn't come up with any useful info and am interested in knowing what I have. For years it's dwelt in my drawer and never used or wound. Just a few days ago I got it out and wound it up (manual wind). It only took 12 complete winds before stopping; since then it has kept flawless time & the seconds hand has a fairly smooth sweep. I'm intrigued!

If you have anything useful to contribute I'd greatly appreciate it. Here's some pics. dave:
