Black Seiko dress watches - too many choices - HELP!

Recommended Posts

Thrichar

Been looking at picking up a black dress watch and can't go past some of the nicer Seiko offerings. Trouble is I'm drowning in options and can no longer tell my SARB from my SARX from my SARY!

Three options for a start:

SARX021 - probably my favourite so far - love the date wheel and matt look:

SARB033 - as with most things Seiko, Gazzla's fault! Like the lume and the 'mini grand seiko' styling:

SARX017 - fantastic tuxedo stripe on the dial and the red-tipped seconds hand is cool:

Any ideas very much appreciated!

SARB033 every time. Superior movement and build. Then stick it on a bit of gen croc. Job done. :D

Here's my 035:

Next best, the SARY055, again on leather:

Well there seems to be a clear vote for the SARB033! Now need to track one down at a decent price ;)

There's always the SDGM003 - Seiko Brightz - if you fancy a splurge: :D

Far out Gaz - you aren't helping ;)

Too many bloody options like I said in the first place. I do like the grand cocktail though - starburst dial is really nice.

Looks like I'm going to have to sell something again!!

My experience with SDGM003 says that you need really strong light to see the sunburst pattern. Most of the time dial was glossy/piano black, hope you see my point

From models which you are considering I would go for SARB033... but let me check what do you think about SARX035?

Hope that helps

I suppose it depends on what case size you are comfortable with. The above range from 37-42mm. I had a SRP703K1 - 42mm: :D

Screw it, I'll buy a Hamilton ;)

Trouble with asking fellow enthusiasts about watches - you end up with more options and more confused!!

In the end with so many options, I went for the cheapest possible option! Sorts me out until I decide on something higher end:
