Travelterp 0 Posted May 5, 2016 Hello everyone. I bought a new watch for myself from Silix and decided to get the cheapie $39 blue sub for my 16 year old son. I don't have a good eye at all for what colors look good together or even what material. I know it's all an individual preference...but I'm asking for your opinion. What do you think would look good for a preppy 16 year old? I know I could easily ask him what he would like, but I would like to surprise him with it. Thanks in advance for the help! Foxindebox 472 Posted May 5, 2016 A blue perlon would do the job. I have one on my gen seamaster and it would look nice on a sub
WatchDog21 3,345 Posted May 5, 2016 In the effort to keep cost down I would say a nice Perlon would suit it but not sure if that can be considered preppy. Other than that would be a Rubber B http://www.decowrist.com/
RichardMiami 4 Posted May 5, 2016 It's unanimous! Perlon blue - here is one on a blue Tudor:

Travelterp 0 Posted May 5, 2016 http://www.decowrist.com/collections/our-products/products/perlon-strap-blue Thanks again. Does this look like the right one? I used the link maxpower provided.
Genius 281 Posted May 5, 2016 I'd go blue nato it's slightly more hard-wearing than perlon but the perlon does look awesome
Genius 281 Posted May 5, 2016 Another really good option is the blue rubber b linamarket do a good rep of it
Genius 281 Posted May 5, 2016 In fact after looking up the rubber b in blue on a blue sub think that's my favourite look
WatchDog21 3,345 Posted May 5, 2016 http://www.decowrist...rlon-strap-blue Thanks again. Does this look like the right one? I used the link maxpower provided. I do not have any Perlon straps so maybe somebody can advise but that is indicating 18-20mm which makes me think that there may be a bit of a gap. My OCD would drive me nuts if that were the case. Since the strap is soft I would consider getting the 22mm, tight fit and no gaps
Genius 281 Posted May 5, 2016 It's not as tightly woven as a nato so if you push it together it will get fatter and when you stretch it out it'll get thinner
