Nugget001 0 Posted May 17, 2016 So I got a bit excited & ordered the SNZH57J1 I then ordered the vintage FF dial from Dagaz To then suddenly realise I have no skills whatsoever to be able to do the dial swap mod myself :-( Yeah I know I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed... Any ideas who I can get to do the mod for me? For a fee of course I asked my local Seiko AD jewellers here in Australia but he wouldn't touch it Any advice appreciated Thanks
ShovelnTC 31 Posted May 17, 2016 Mate I did mine and it is an easy swap so any reasonable watchmaker will be able to do it. Forget the AD's as most of them are just shopfronts who send out their Seiko's for repair. Look for a local watchmaker buy shy away from the Mall kiosks. Probably an independent jeweler or the like.. MoveAlong 23 Posted May 17, 2016 This helped me out quite a bit when my "skills" were on their way up. It's for SKX007, but the info should be applicable to yours. If you're at all handy, you can do this mod yourself. http://www.thewatchsite.com/34-watchmaking-tinkering/24289-skx007-customization-step-step.html
Nugget001 0 Posted May 17, 2016 Thanks guys I would love to try doing myself but have a feeling I will stuff it up
iperleyr 1 Posted May 27, 2016 It can be daunting indeed. But really it's not too hard. And thankfully Seiko parts are easy to come by and not horribly expensive (even parts for modding).
