Which is better - Submariner or Seamaster?

Sorry to disappoint you but I'm not actually posing a noob question which can be answered by the search box. I'm just drawing your attention to an interesting on-line comparison. http://www.bernardwa...or-a-seamaster/ There are also some interesting reads if you click on Watch Comparison on the right side.

I can't choose but if I was in th bracelet resizing business I would prefer rolexes. Other than that I really like all these variants.

Swings and roundabouts.......................................price must be a big consideration, the Omega is half the price

Really interesting read.

Thanks for sharing.

Of course I would like both but if I had to choose then the iconic status and beauty of the Rolex just pips it for me.

Rolex. If for nothing else than the fact that their movements are in house

I've had and continue to like both. My problem with Rolex is, people will always wonder if it's a fake. Unless I see you stepping out of your S-Class in a Brioni suit, I'm assuming your Rolex is fake. Hell, I've had people ask me if my gen DJ was fake,

In contrast, no one's ever asked if my V5 PO is fake. It's a less arrogant watch. People who see it know its a quality watch, not inexpensive, but not in your face.

Personally, I feel more comfortable wearing my PO for everyday use.

Nice theme for an article, it could well have more depth. Imho while the Seamaster is a great and easy to use, very desirable watch with an iconic, comfortable and recognizable bracelet, "a Sub is a Sub" and it can´t be beaten.

Seamaster, nicer looking, cheaper, less likely to be assumed a 'fake'.

Personally and quite subjectively, Seamaster without a doubt because I got my first (gen) one when I was young (a lot younger than today at least) and Rolex'es were totally out of reach. Hence, for me the classic Seamaster resonates to a time in life in much the same way music from that period does.

Now, objectively - Rolex hands down, even though I would go for a Rolex model without a cyclops, not a fan of the aestetics and avoid them whenever possible. Don't care if most everyone assumes any Rolex is a fake.

rolex if you want everyone to know what you're wearing... omega if you want 'almost' everyone to know what you're wearing...
