plankton 1 Posted August 10, 2016 For you mates that have been around for a while, remember the divers, screw heads to high, foggy crystal, strap that felt like it was made from a automobile tire, half ass polish work, crooked markers, marks on the dial, oh pubes pretty consistently stuck in the movement. Well I've had a number of new arrivals over the last week or 2. V7 DSSD D Blue, Tudor Bronze, Black AP Diver, and yesterday another V7 DSSD to detail to keep me busy and a white AP Diver. AS most of you know I cant seem to hold on to a watch after I finish it, M2M will eventually break me. I do use Ken Lee pretty much exclusively now because he is just ultra careful on what I get and he always has been delivering me better product, sorry TD's I still use you guys from time to time but Ken's pick-ups have been exceedingly better than most and he doesn't charge more for the better choices. All of you that keep buying my DSSD's when I finish the WPing and detailing get his base product or BK's or Vacs. we can talk about Ken off of this thread if need be since he is not a TD here. Well without getting into a long story the Noobs won't really get, I'm amazed how far we have come. Clearly I know the tells in the diver and it was my intention to do a lot of work on this white one to get it up to par. Honestly it really needs nothing. I ay work on the movement to get a smoother line on the timeograph but short of that this one will be kept for a little while and enjoyed. I can believe all the details from the face to the screw height to the AR. This AR is as good as I've seen from anyone. The movement is clean and all the parts are polished and I'm amazed on what just came out of the box. Three years ago if it were to be a keeper I'd have to send it off to Vac and get all that stuff done and spend some money, not now. JF has simply outdone themselves in the detail on this one and the black one. Anyhow some quick shots.
plankton 1 Posted August 10, 2016 Nunu, when I'm done with the Black diver you can have it. Still needs WPing and another slight adjustment on the movement.
plankton 1 Posted August 10, 2016 I will add some close up pics of the movement when I break the watch down to tune the movement. I'm really impressed, it's at the point that Subs, DSSD's and some other specific brands like the AP Diver the rep is so good I wouldn't but the gen. I actually only have one gen left which is a D Blue. But it gets zero wrist time because I wear the V7.
WatchaholicMallorca 2 Posted August 10, 2016 The diver is a watch that when I first joined here, I really didn't like, but I must say they grow on me more and more every day... I got one on behalf of a friend and was reluctant to hand it over, the wrist presence is top notch. Just too much for my work attire!
SamsonAusKognito 31 Posted August 10, 2016 The diver looks amazing. One more of many AP models I wtb.

plankton 1 Posted August 10, 2016 Thanks mate, you are an awesome friend My timeline will be Saturday, these take a lot of time to waterproof because you have to do both sides of the watch a silicone 2 tems and 8 screw gaskets. Isn't that AR crazy good on this batch, same on the black one. The improvements over the last few years is crazy.

MDK 0 Posted August 10, 2016 Love the white dial, been considering a JF Diver for a while, the only thing holding me back is the time i have put into my 5.1 noob, its got a full Swiss low beat mod 2824-2 mainplate ad 2846 internals and Guru xtal. Love this one, wear it in health

plankton 1 Posted August 25, 2016 how much is this from JP? looks great man I'm thinking around $400, not really sure but you can look it up. Sweet watch, right now it gets some good wear time.
mech500 0 Posted August 26, 2016 (edited) Yes, it's an amazing rep. I think the latest version is called v3. The v2 has swirls on the dial tap. The v3 has the correct smooth tap. Here's my v3 I agree, it needs zero modification. No need for x2AR mod etc. Here's the v2 (swirl tap) Edited August 26, 2016 by mech500
Tikwatejnu 0 Posted August 26, 2016 That Dial is absolutely stunning! After reading this thread I really start to grow a desire for AP. Probably going to save up for a Gen AP that is more or less affordable.
plankton 1 Posted August 27, 2016 That Dial is absolutely stunning! After reading this thread I really start to grow a desire for AP. Probably going to save up for a Gen AP that is more or less affordable. The problem in gen AP is you will lose your ass when you go to sell it. Spend $15k then your lucky to sell it for $12k, I know that hard wy.

Kwt 11 Posted August 27, 2016 (edited) Looks stunning! I have to admit though not sure about everyone else but as good as reps have gotten in the 3-4 years I've been on this forum - I have owned every rep I ever wanted of every watch and for now I am done with the scene and happy just to wear my one gen. I envy the noobs just starting out and loving reps especially now they are this good. Edited August 27, 2016 by Kwt
Tikwatejnu 0 Posted August 27, 2016 Why does AP not hold value well? I understand that some loss is normal, but all things considered it's a top tier brand. Nothing holds value like a Patek and Rolex.
