Replica Leather Strap For A Geniune AP ROO Novelty

Recommended Posts

Deathstorm

Hey Fellow Watchers

I have been hunting for genuine straps as a replacement for my standard rubber version provided with the RG ROO Novelty but found nothing cool or chunky enough. Wondering if you guys feel a replica would be a good option and whether or not it would fit perfectly on this bad boy?

Any advice welcome!!

Just go in to an AD and ask? seen some cool looking camo straps on Instagram that fit gen AP's might be worth looking in to that.

Saw those Horus Straps too, they are pretty cool.

If you want to have it more elegant than sporty ...

He got some great hornback straps

And you can choose your colours individual, but horus offers that even better

Best idea is to get a good strap maker to make you exactly what you want.

Update

Ive been told by a couple of strap makers that I need a genuine leather strap that they can "build upon". Apparently the strap needs this metal piece that help the strap fit snug to the lugs???

Yes, they will need the "insert" for the top of the strap so it will sit nicely around the keepers. They can make it without the keepers as Donerix tends to do, but it will not sit as flush or nicely.

There was someone on here that started making the inserts with a 3D printer, saves you ordering a strap, but that was for JF models, I assume they can use the same technique to make a gen shapped insert.

No problem, out of interest, what's wrong with the gen strap on it atm?

UPDATE - What do you think of the combination?

Original AP 44mm Grand Prix Strap! Think the red accents actually go quite well with the red on the dial?

I love it and it feels a lot better than the rubber and also kills the problem I had with the standard leather (croc) being too thin!

I confirm what said above. To do a strap that perfectly fit the case of your AP the strap maker need to have the inserts.

Without the inserts the strap doesn't fit exactly the case, however it doesn't look bad
