If you had $200 to burn... what would you buy?

Recommended Posts

The title asks the question.. what would you buy?

What have you been savings the pennies for?

What watch keeps tempting you to pull the trigger?

Yes... this is me attempting to drum up ideas of what to buy, i'm fairly new to the scene and i'm intrigued by the availability of some beautiful watches.

I'm not saying i'm just going by to buy any old watch; I've spent the last 2 days reading the majority of the stickys, checking out a lot of review threads and looking up all of the watches i'd appreciated over the years to see if their rep is right for me!

I have to admit, i've enjoyed reading through the 'Wrist check' posts, it's really great to see what eye candy everyone is wearing and it has opened my eyes to a whole range of watches i didn't think I'd like.

I'm looking forward to seeing what is tempting everyone at the moment!

That's about 160 quid in real money....

Prob a decent G Shock like an aviation one on bracelet which is about that.

The way exchange rates and prices are now $200 doesn't get that much rep wise like it used to

Good to see a new member taking their time and feeling their way around.

I'm with Greg, you'd be hard pushed to find a better first rep than that for the money. My first from a TD was a vintage daytona with the same movement.

I would get ceramic/white Daytona A23j..... really want new ceramic /white face fully functional daytona but seconds @6 with A7750 are holding me back.

Another Breguet ..... few others ..... where it stops..

Breguet particularly interest me, you say "another", which ones do you have now?

I was looking at:

http://www.pf-818.com/breguet/br00051-retrogating-day-date-tourbillon-ss-le-white-asian-2813.html

http://www.pf-818.com/breguet/br01039-classique-skeleton-ss-le-black-asian-2813-21j.html

http://www.pf-818.com/breguet/br01027-tourbillon-3179-pvd-pvd-white-asis-2813.html

.. i just couldn't find any reviews from other members to assure me that they are fairly respectable reps.

If you can, would you mind sharing what you know about the Breguet reps?

Well it's better than working (don't tell my boss)

I have already PM'd MAJ75, but with me being a newbie, he could well opt to sell it to a more established member!

I would buy this, @$250 it's $50 over your budget it is shipping included.

It's the BPSD (BP factory Sea-Dweller), it's runs an Asian 2836 and is pretty much good to go straight out of the box. It also lends itself to be a future model to add after market parts ( bezel, crown/tube) for when you become more critical and try to inch it to perfection.

Btw, I just got it so it's my favorite right now (so I might be biased)

If it had to be a watch I'd check all the dealer's sale sections to see what they had going on. Currently I'd probably pick up the Tudor Heritage Ranger from Toro.

If the money didn't have to go towards a watch I'd probably pick up a 30L keg of beer and have a few friends over for a good night of drinking games.

Look Breguet reps are not 100% 1:1 replica off original and there fore not popular between rep fans, that is what I understood from reading and searching around.

This one is simple chronograph I purchased from one forum member

It is 40mm diameter and I like simplicity off this model. Has ST-19 movement , quality is great.New one costs $268

http://www.pf-818.com/breguet/br10014-classique-chronograph-ss-silver-manual-working-chronos-18096.html?___SID=U

Rose gold one is a cheeper replica and good value for money in terms off price versus quality but terible leather strap .

I purchse that rap to see If I want a real Tourbillon, it has 25j seagull movement.

The third Breguet I just sold because it was to big for my wrist at 43.5 mm way to big. It was my favorite with calendar and Moonphase complications.

This one has as well ST-19 movement, beautiful watch. It higer priced rep around $298

One Im considering is this one,

http://www.trustytimezone.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=17&products_id=15363

From my experience very good quality watches and as other reps in range off usd $200-300 are higher quality build to.

I like the way Breguet sits on my wrist, they different and nice dress watches.

Only thing they dont look in terms 1:1 with gens but I dont care about that.

To me if I like the style only quality of the rep metters.

Personally I wouldn't go with open heart again. Hope this helps.

Very nice watches, purger. Thank you for sharing the photos with me.

I notice a fair few have said they would avoid the open hearts in the future, it does put me off buying one with that attribute.

I have to admit, i probably would have bought the Moonphase watch off you haha!
