DR3M3L 6 Posted December 21, 2016 (edited) TRAILBOSS UPDATE 28/03: Why yes the forum is down again, how kind of you to ask I'm watching the tech team chat live and tho I can usually make sense of shit I have NFI apart from the fact it involves MYSQL and one of the more obscure data bases and the lads are going damn and bugger a lot. It could be 20 minutes, it could be hours but I'm not game to interrupt 'em to ask. Normal service will be resumed ASAP. TB99 > /BREAK Dear all, First of all I want to thank RWG again for our little spot here to communicate with members trough another channel. Ok, so here's the deal. As some of you have read the forum has been hacked sometime ago. We where able to recover the base system, but we're left with many injections. Some inject ads, others inject redirects and even a malware warning was given. A total mess, which timing is not so good at all. I'm currently loaded with work in personal life, which makes it hard to find the time to clean things up. Even if we clean it up we'll be left with an unstable environment. With this in mind I've decided not to put any more time in cleaning up. We have to migrate to another environment. We will start migrating on friday, this might take the full day or even two days. Bear in mind that we will be fully offline during the migration. We're working hard to create a great new environment that will prove to be a stable framework for the next few years. Thanks all for your understanding. Best, The RWI team TRAILBOSS UPDATE 22/12: As you know we ended up taking the board down, it wasn't worth trying to keep it up for obvious reasons and time is better spent on the new install instead of propping up the remains of the old. There is still a bit to be done before the guys can even begin to migrate the board so bear with us and I'll try to keep you all in the loop. DR3M3L UPDATE 23/12: Small update: We did two test migrations today that went very well. The migration of test data was 100% succesfull. We'll start the migration tomorrow and expect it to finish in 10-12 hours, after that we'll have to do a few tests before we can put things live. If all goes like planned we will be up an running tomorrow night. We won't be able to migrate everything in the first migration. We won't migrate sales feedback as an example as it's quite a hard migration to write. We'll be back with all of our member data, posts, forums and shoutbox. The sales form might take another while to be fully productive too. We're doing the best we can to get the new platform in shape and write all of the modifications in this new system like we had done in the old setup. Some things might take weeks, others might take months. Please bear in mind that the current forum was modified by me and many others for years and that it is almost impossible to rewrite all of this for the new platform in a short timeframe. I thank you all for your patience and hope to get a new forum up and running which will prove to be more stable and friendly in user experience. DR3M3L UPDATE 24/12: Final migration is running on full power. We expect this to finish in a couple of hours. After this is finished we need to set the new database online and test everything. I expect to be able to go live tomorrow if all goes well in once. Merry Christmas all! DR3M3L UPDATE 26/12: The PM's where finally migrated without errors We started putting things on the live server and expect this to be done soon. Me and my brother will be out for a christmas dinner first and check on the progress when we get back this evening. Edited March 28, 2017 by trailboss99 Updates Share this post Link to post

RepGuy 113 Posted December 21, 2016 Best of luck with the migration. Sometimes it's easier to start fresh as opposed to trying to fix a train wreck. At least that's what happens to some of my software projects Share this post Link to post
