As I said on RWI, I'm underwhelmed by this and the other new Rollie models, they just aren't very 'wow'.

They've had several years to think about improvements and all they can do is add ceramic bezels to their current range and whack a 4-figure sum on top of the current price?

I know they're generally slow to respond to market trends but seriously...

That sort of Daytona, especially, is everything I have always despised about Rolex - it's not done for any other purpose than to be expensive and make owners go "look how rich I am" :)

I still love some of their designs, I can't deny it, but they just design things to cash in rather than actually make any meaningful step forward in watch design...

Well I love it - I love the Half SEL - Half Lug thing going on with a leather strap. Great look.

I am just interested to know what size it is traditionally Rolex have increased the size when they add ceramic and the factory had an oversizes daytona a few weeks ago

I think it looks great but contemporary designers are doing something either new or affordable. Rolex are providing more of the same but massively increasing the prices. I think the is something special about the designes but the prices have increased absurdly. The Ball Watch company can produce genuine Swiss watches with amazing durability for £1,800 on a small scale so how come Rolex want £5k or £6k? Our reps are not as good as the genuine but they are not £6k worse!!! Rado can make the entire watch out of ceramic and only charge £1,600 - £2.2k.

Exactly my thoughts ^^^

I mean, I've seen the YM (full size) in my local AD increase from £6k to £6990 or something, in a little under 4 months...

Frack me, they've been at the black paint again, as they say here in Thailand, Same, same, but no different, when will they get a clue, I suppose they don't need one when there are enough dopeybollocks ready to sign up for their standard fayre, Luthier had the neck to criticise Seiko, this 'giant' isn't even in the same ballpark as Seiko :picard2:

here are 4x of the new models.

A new Daytona in Submariner case with BIG date.

A New Explorer II with bi-compax chronos and date at 6.

A new Explorer 1, looks standard.

A new GMT, can't see anything different in it.

Isn't the GMT with a pepsi ceramic bezel?

In order of the above...

Dogs dinner

This just looks weird - and why do you need a chrono on a GMT watch??

I actually love this - is it 36mm or 39mm? If it's 39mm, this is eminently rep-able and I will be buying one when it is... Clean, crisp, makes a statement without being OTT.

+1 - what have they changed??

I like this Daytona, but I won't buy it. Is every watch maker adding something useful to each new model- ie.

AP,Hublot, Chanel, etc

Balders - Are you sure that pic of the 4 rolexes is not a fantasy photoshop?

The Rolex website is currently only showing the new RG/Ceramic Daytona, 42mm Explorer II, YM II, and a couple of hideous ladies DJs...

When are you all going to take off your training wheels?

When you finish saving the planet and or start making sense, I know which'll come first, mankind will be relieved B)

An outside shot of course would be when Joey / Dave / Speedz make a triumphal comeback

Simplicity, class, elegance - it is stripped down to just the bare essentials with no superfluous styling details.

And maybe, just maybe, I am influenced by the 5 letters on the dial... B) lol
