Fiddo 0 Posted March 23, 2011 It should be a screw off.
bme 4 Posted March 23, 2011 Roll some duct tape up, sticky side out, into a ball. That normally unsrews that sucker off!
greg_r 81 Posted March 23, 2011 It unscrews. You may manage it with a ball of duct tape - it depends on how tightly it's been closed. Alternatively you'll need a proper caseback tool for the purpose. Col has them in the RWG shop here: https://shop.homage-watches-guide.com/index...mp;productId=43 Warning - you can get cheaper Rolex caseback tool sets for less on eBay, but the cheap ones tend to damage the back

JohnG 41 Posted March 23, 2011 I use a hammer and a cold chisel, takes a bit of prying and banging, but it always comes off.

offshore 0 Posted March 23, 2011 Be warned..I have seen some VERY cheap Rolex reps, where the caseback was a snap off, even though it looked like a screw back. If you have been unscrewing for a while, and appear to be getting nowhere, have a look for a snap off lip around the outer circumference of the case back! Not seen too regularly, and only on very cheap reps. O/S

vax 0 Posted March 23, 2011 Does this tool have a die to fit the DSSD? I keep reading that size is harder to find?
KBH 7 Posted March 24, 2011 Does this tool have a die to fit the DSSD? I keep reading that size is harder to find? There are a bunch of different size dies to open Rolex cases. Maybe 6 or 8. I've yet to see a rep Rolex that can't be opened with duct tape though. You guys are way over thinking this. Get some duct tape and try it before you get all squirrelly and and start buying expensive tools that you'll probably never use again.
