wat44 0 Posted March 30, 2011 I recently bought a watch from a fellow member here, today the strap came off. No biggie, I thought as the screw didnt come out - it would just be a matter of putting the lug back in and tightening it up... but no - it wont tighten, it just goes round and round, so it must be stripped, I think is the only solution to glue the screw in place with loctite? and if so, how do I get it out later? thanks bottom right screw:

wat44 0 Posted March 30, 2011 thank you - wat would my key words to search for be?
greg_r 83 Posted March 30, 2011 If the case thread is stripped, you're going to need to re-tap it. If it's just a stripped screw, then panatime can supply radiomir lug & screw sets.
Mazz 62 Posted March 30, 2011 If its only one side it can be expoxyed in place, its a little more difficult to change the strap but it can be done
wat44 0 Posted March 30, 2011 oooh - good thinking - i didnt try the other side... thanks

mondeov6 0 Posted March 31, 2011 Can you get this sorted wat? Any cost you have for repairing this is on me. Can't get it fixed for a resonable cost.... then I will give you a full refund for the watch. Good luck!
wat44 0 Posted April 5, 2011 I think the best fix is to open the case back, undo the obscured screw to make sure its ok. If it is, then loc tite up the stripped one knowing I can change the strap whenever just by undoing one side it that works, fix is fine! cheers
wat44 0 Posted April 11, 2011 sticky- ball had the caseback off easy-peasy other screw is fine - so next step is glue the buggered screw in and it should be: job complete
Member X 91 Posted April 11, 2011 Good work! If it all goes horribly wrong, you could sort a new case set
