greg_r 81 Posted November 25, 2008 I bought it for 90$ from Lawrence at http://www.houseofsouvenirs.com/index.htm , he does have some very very nice dials on even these cheap ones so if I change the cheap asian 21j movement I will have some nice watches IMO (and Rolexadict) ooo - I was looking at an ExpII from Lawrence a while back, but was hesitating - that is surprisingly good for the dough. Go for it mate Damn - this board is gonna lead to bankruptcy before much longer.... :P

greg_r 81 Posted November 25, 2008 Today: Greg, you cheating on your Vacheron???????????????? oh hell yeah. I love the VC, but I tend only to wear it as a dress watch. My Panerais get most of the wrist time (along with the B&Rs).
AllergyDoc 40 Posted November 25, 2008 (edited) I bought it for 90$ from Lawrence at http://www.houseofsouvenirs.com/index.htm , he does have some very very nice dials on even these cheap ones so if I change the cheap asian 21j movement I will have some nice watches IMO (and Rolexadict) I had one of those from Lawrence but I don't see the flaws I had on your watch. Look between the "1" and "0" on the bezel 10: There was another similar flaw not captured on my pics. As yours looks better, I might pick up another to go with the black dial version I have. AllergyDoc 40 Posted November 25, 2008 If anyone sees one for sale used, snatch it up. One of these just sole on RWI, a black-dial version. I think he wanted $150. I like the solid mid-links. I have an LV Sub from Amatory.biz that has solid ML. It's not a good copy otherwise.

Say, who's the hack that refretted this guitar? Cheap, cheap, cheap................. Dumb, dumb, dumb... It's not finished yet, dumbie. There's still plenty of work should be done, and not only on fretboard. And it's not refretting, it's new babe. I don't do repairs.

Demsey 9 Posted November 26, 2008 (edited) Took my usual brick off my wrist today for some YGG comfort.... MY EYES! MY EYES! TAKE THEM OUT! TAKE THEM OUT! Good God, WTF is that? The Vincent van Gogh 127? lol, I owe Clive an apology, the Colamariner is not the ugliest replica known to man. I bet you get a watch like that free in a box of Frosted Flakes. But on you Dave, it looks good. Seriously. Edited November 26, 2008 by Demsey

Luthier 1 Posted November 26, 2008 I don't do repairs. I thought you were a luthier? I like the capo though. Yes, I am. Luthier, not a repairman. Thanks, it's really nice capo for the bucks. Looks great, very close to gen., and these new 21j works great too. I guess it's the last generations of reps, quite close to gens.
oscarmadfish 0 Posted November 26, 2008 i love the tree watch its different and stands out
greg_r 81 Posted November 26, 2008 Sweet huh.... Art my friend.... :P hmm - certainly different... Haven't quite made up my mind whether I like it yet, but that's part of what makes it interesting... As for dropping a grand on it, not sure I'd be prepared to pay that for a rep watch - even with a hand-painted dial, but I just paid twice that for an antique book - a rare first edition by Gustave Dore (19th century french artist). Again. Frankly, I think we're both nuts. Fun, ain't it?
oscarmadfish 0 Posted November 26, 2008 i would never dream of paying a grand for it but i would certainly buy a cheapie if there was one maybe dave will just give me it as a christmas present :P
Guest dave123 Posted November 26, 2008 Its not a rep watch,no branding on it,swiss movement, built, lumed and serviced by Flav,a watch that will never have 'issues',unlike a fake, stands out and i like that :P
Demsey 9 Posted November 26, 2008 Sweet huh.... Art my friend.... :P Dave? All your 'taste' is in your mouth my friend. That fact alone is not all bad, it will only bolster your case for being 'heterosexual'. You wear that watch down in Cabo however? Well, we'll just say 'Julio' will want to love you long time. Better you put the grand to a decent pair of Simpson driving boots and gloves for your soon to be Z06. Werd.
