bananakid0 0 Posted August 9, 2017 Hello everyone, I'm thinking of getting an AP diver when I get my first ever salary in 3 months time and I'm wondering what currently the best on the market is. I hear these are some of the most accurate AP's and are very difficult to distinguish from the outside to Gens (please correct me if I'm wrong). Also I hear JF is the best for Divers (again do correct me). However, I have some questions. What is the price difference between, for instance, these two models: 1. http://www.tb-688.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=18_49&product_id=878 2. http://www.tb-688.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=18_49&product_id=1646 Is it simply the fact that one is ceramic & open back while the other isn't? And are they both up to the same standard in terms of closeness to the gen? Does one maybe have a better crystal, or thinner housing? I assume the open case back will be the biggest giveaway, but ignoring that please kindly help. Or would this be the very best in the market? http://www.tb-688.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=18_49&product_id=1723 - if the V7 is so good what is the v8? Thank you in advance! Genius 281 Posted August 9, 2017 v7 is excellent, v8 is slightly, more excellent. Get the v8 Ceramic is good but but the v8 is super rep in all but the movement

Get the v8 Ceramic is good but but the v8 is super rep in all but the movement Does the V8 not always come with an open case back (which lets it down)? And the ceramic, is that worse than the v7 or is it a v7 just in ceramic?

Is the only difference between v7 & v8 the decorated movement or are there other external features that are better?
Diplomatico 191 Posted August 9, 2017 I would recommend getting a version with a2824 movement to get better reliability and no rotor noise (associated with miyota movements).

boredpanda 1 Posted August 9, 2017 v7 v8 are both good. Movement wise is a personal preference, I personally don't mind 9015 and might have a small preference for it. I'd say go ahead with the v7 You won't be disappointed.
Chiquita Fanjita 1,782 Posted August 9, 2017 v7 is the best and are able to transplant a low beat movement into the v7 as per the gen, if you wish, which AFAIK you can't do with the v8.

It does not have a model number Edited August 9, 2017 by bananakid0
boredpanda 1 Posted August 9, 2017 I think you're looking for the JF v7 instead?
bananakid0 0 Posted August 9, 2017 I think you're looking for the JF v7 instead? Yes typo; however, question about v7 vs ceramic still remains. Whether they're the same standard
