grb 1 Posted April 5, 2011 I've been sitting here quietly for 6 months listening and trying to learn But AR really gets me. Posts appear ranging from 'Heavy AR' to 'No discernible AR' I can't decide whether:- I need it, It's not desirable If I've got it:- How do I get rid of it If I've not got it:- How do I get some. Help a new person that's trying to move on!!
greg_r 83 Posted April 5, 2011 If you want AR, send your watch to FineDD. Overall, AR is a good thing provided it's not the horrible funky blue that you find on some reps.
Member X 91 Posted April 5, 2011 A lot depends on the watch! If it's a PAM then vintage = no AR, modern = single side colourless AR. If it's a Rolex then the general rule is no AR on any model, apart from under the date cyclops on the more recent models. If it's something like a Breitling or other high end brand then yes, they nearly all have AR, as I understand it. Generally speaking, the factories do apply AR to the reps that need it but, as you say, some of the AR can be a blue-tint in certain lights rather than the colourless gen-like AR. I would not worry too much about it really Most people will have no clue as to what they are looking at so the colour of the AR is unlikely to scream 'I'm a fake!!!' David543 0 Posted April 5, 2011 I'd get AR if the Gen had it, not if it didn't!
alw 0 Posted April 5, 2011 I´ve read there´s double-sided AR too...
Member X 91 Posted April 5, 2011 PAMs are usually single sided, most other things with AR are double sided
