Hey guys,

I was wondering what can be done about a crown that doesnt actually lock. Through normal wear, the crown keep popping out. Any suggestions? Thanks

Best,

JB

New crown and/or tube is needed. What kind of watch is it.

A temporary fix that might work is to slightly squash the crown and it may give you enough threads to catch.

It's a chronomat b01 beater. brand new though. =(

think i can do it myself or better off finding a watchsmith that would do it.

It might be worth contacting the dealer to see if they are able to send you a replacement crown and tube. Or maybe they'd suggest sending it back?

Who did you buy it off? :paddy_gold:

If it's new, maybe you should contact your dealer and see if he'll either repair it or get you the parts.

I'm not familiar enough with Chronomat to even know whether it's a screw in tube or press in. A watch smith could surely do it if he can find the right parts.

Another easy fix for a stripped tube is just to shorten the stem so the crown fits flush to the case if it's just a cheap beater. You could probably do that if you know how to remove and replace the stem into the movement. Of course it wont be water tight at all.

Thanks for the help guys.

I sent the dealer a message to see if he can do/suggest anything.

If not, I will take it to a buddy of mine to see if he can source the parts.
