GC 4,505 Posted April 24, 2011 Here is a link to a page of Gen Vintage Daytonas for sale (click on the one with the blk dial & white sub dials) http://www.vintagewatchcompany.com/Chronog...aytona/watches# And here is a link to the newly released Rep Vintage Daytona (again the blk dial w/white subdials) http://www.1-pc8838.com/0rldv00102-6263-ss...us-p-10041.html So... what say you? The Rep dial is of course not spot on (look at the coronet @12 on the dial and the distance between the placement of the word "Rolex" and the font size used). But apart from that, I'm really really tempted to get one... Guess I'm just excited because of the movt it uses and how well the case, crystal, bracelet and pushers are rep'd. MikeMcNair 0 Posted April 24, 2011 Funny how it says gen dial, yet the dial is the main flaw lol
Silverspeed 10 Posted April 24, 2011 Still think a DW Daytona is the better one

GC 4,505 Posted April 24, 2011 http://dw-watches.tk/ Thanx SS looking at his offerings (i.e. case sets) and especially the Daytona dials he offers (except for the Paul Newman wht/blk)... I think i would opt for the PerfectClones one. But what the hell do i know?
GC 4,505 Posted April 24, 2011 What I should really do first is have my current non-functioning Daytona sec@6 serviced & the movt DLC'd... instead of spending money on a new watch.

I thought you got you 'Tona working again recently? Thing is, if you get it fixed how long will it last? Could be throwing good money after bad...

I thought you got you 'Tona working again recently? Thing is, if you get it fixed how long will it last? Could be throwing good money after bad... I know...but the Tona i have is STUNNING! And 14060or16610 has mentioned that the DLC'd movt he worked on recently has been very reliable and running strong. Oh woe is me...
Del 4,463 Posted April 24, 2011 You're right mate, your 'Tona is a beauty - love that dial!
Eiderdaus 0 Posted April 24, 2011 im currently in the same dilema. 6263 from josh or dw. i don't know. i was trying to buy a donor watch for the v72 movement but realised this project would end end up by 2000-2500$. now i think it's a start to buy the josh version. Eiderdaus 0 Posted April 24, 2011 same discussion is currently ongoing on rg. talked to sql_pl and he would recommend the dw version.
andygt 0 Posted April 24, 2011 DW still gets my vote too, the dial on the new cartel one looks well wrong. Even the old lemania versions had better dials and better pushers too - new ones look a bit stumpy to me. This is my black dial DW to compare:
