Cynikal.Mindset 1 Posted May 1, 2011 anybody that says the DSSD is too big for daily wear clearly has girly arms or their job is pulling rabbits out of their holes.
powderfreak 0 Posted May 1, 2011 I would go for the sub, it's the more classic design.
kan3 0 Posted May 1, 2011 I think I'll buy both lol.
greg_r 83 Posted May 2, 2011 The sub is too small for my tastes. Also, it's just a little too ubiquitous - hell, even monkeys are wearing 'em these days!
wat44 0 Posted May 2, 2011 I've got two dssds and about 8 subs soooooo sub wins!
KBH 7 Posted May 2, 2011 The DSSD is an abomination and an affront to good taste. It ranks up there with the YM II and the Gaytona.

KBH 7 Posted May 2, 2011 I know the forum members seem to love the Deep Sea but I wonder, has anyone actually seen one in the wild? I'm always looking at people's watches and see many Subs and DJ's, but I've never seen anyone wearing a Deep Sea.
boneyjr 1 Posted May 2, 2011 I own a black sub with an ETA clone from marvelous replica and i plan on selling it and switching to the DSSD.. all about the size
debian 0 Posted May 2, 2011 I voted sub because it looks the best of the two. The DSSD is to much metal so that the dial looks small.
mspangl 0 Posted May 2, 2011 SUB ! I really like the DSSD tho but the sub is nicer imo.
GC 4,523 Posted May 2, 2011 The DSSD eats SUBS for breakfast !!! Nuff said!

PeterWorcester 0 Posted May 4, 2011 Of course it's all personal taste but I'd take the DSSD any day of th eweek, I never remove mine, swim, shower, snorkel, sail. I love it. To me the DSSD bracelet is a feat of engineering marvel in itself. That is probably the best engineered and thought out clasp I've ever imagined. I own a gen Sub and a rep DSSD and I wear the DSSD non-stop. Now I'm starting to share time with the Black DSSD double red Pro Hunter, both beautiful watches. The sub is beautiful but I just prefer the heft and size of the DSSD's hands down IMO. Cheers all, Peter

gB. 0 Posted May 5, 2011 DSSD looks good, but I just dont like the black color, would buy it if it comes in blue color. Robert sells them in both summer blue and LV green color. No gen equivalent, but if blue's the color you want, Robert has it. Robert's blue & green DSSD listing
Greenhat 0 Posted May 6, 2011 (edited) The Rolex SBS Submariner A RARE military watch worth £55,000 was discovered after its unsuspecting owner took it to a jewellers to have the strap changed. Staff at the shop in Edinburgh were stunned when they came across the Rolex SBS Submariner. The watch was created in the 1970s for the Special Boat Service. Staff at the branch of Laing The Jeweller immediately realised the significance of the timepiece. And it was sold this week for £55,000 to a Midlands collector. The watch's owner, a Fife man who wants to remain anonymous, was gifted the Rolex by his uncle, who was based at Rosyth. He had bought the Rolex at a naval auction for less than £100. Fewer than 1000 SBS Submariners were made and they were issued only to the military. Ian Malcone, service manager at Laing, said: "It's incredibly unusual. "The man asked if we could put a bracelet on it instead of its current canvas/nylon strap, but once modified the watch wouldn't have been in a collectable condition. "This one is about as good as Rolex collecting gets." http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/684/d...90c6051961.jpg/ Edited May 6, 2011 by Greenhat
MikeMcNair 0 Posted May 15, 2011 Dssd all the way, it has a presence that the sub lacks severely, while achieving a similar "timeless" look /thread
vfsvfl 0 Posted May 15, 2011 The DSSD bracelet - it's just too girly with that taper. Now I've heard everything! Glad I put a smile on your face, lovely jubbly! I don't know about "girly" but I am not a fan of the tapered DSSD bracelet. (OK, "bracelet" sounds girly...) However, DSSD at 43mm-case/47mm-crown seems kind of small after wearing PAM (44/51mm) or U-Boat (51 /60mm). BTW, is the SSD bracelet more uniform in width than the sub or DSSD? If so, I wonder about getting an SSD (or SSD-style) bracelet for a DSSD? I spent some time but couldn't seem to find one among all the dealer. Anybody have a suggestion?
