part_timer 0 Posted May 18, 2011 Voted for the Sub, I have the pre-ceramic that I got from Mary last year. I took delivery of a fine specimen DSSD from prestigewatches yesterday and it is an engineering masterpiece! So I can compare the two. Still ogling and marveling at the fine detail of the DSSD, but as I was slipping into town today the Sub seemed a more sensible option! At the moment I'm getting the vibe of Sub for sensible everyday stuff, DSSD for the more peculiar occasion, when bigger vibes are required!
g.man 0 Posted July 20, 2011 Vote cast for DSSD. Sub just doesn't do it for me. Just seems to lack presence. regards g.man
Silverspeed 10 Posted July 20, 2011 Sub - classic European sports car DSSD - An American SUV. A Hummer for example. You chose Absolutely right, although the DSSD is a nice watch, it's unbalanced, topheavy and it's design out of proportion The Submariner is an iconic design
Pihlippe 1,294 Posted July 20, 2011 Tricky one this is.... I'm not a big Rolex fan.....yet With my wrist size it have to be a sub I think.
seclark007 11 Posted July 20, 2011 I like the fact that this is still going as a topic. It appears that the DSSD is preferred at this point....suspect mod influence on polling numbers and all
Distinct 0 Posted July 20, 2011 I voted for the Submariner a while back and believe that's the right choice even more now. Maybe when they release the DSSD in this colour scheme...
schmooze 0 Posted July 20, 2011 DSSD=More rolex advertising/marketing/useless features I love advertising/marketing/useless features. DSSD for me. +
jcagara08 31 Posted July 20, 2011 sub-c: small wrists, everyday thang dssd: big wrists, It seems not too ok if worn everyday.. just my 2cents
fe22ari 0 Posted July 20, 2011 Voted Sub. DSSD seems a little overwrought, Sub is classier and can sill be dressy as well as sporty (diver-y).
PeterWorcester 0 Posted July 20, 2011 I think you're probably hearing the same idea more than once. I own both a very nice DSSD that I absolutely LOVE, It's big, it's substantial I have it in stainless and in a black PVD "Pro Hunter " model but the SS DSSD is a superb, and I mean superb rep watch. The glide lock clasp is a thing of engineering beauty. On the other hand I have a very nice sub as well, it's a gorgeous watch. Looks as gen as they come, has the new quasi glide lock clasp that is also magnificent. A beautiful but different watch. I don't think anyone can tell you which one you should get, it's different for everyone. Personally I like both. I do love the heft of my DSSD, as someone said, "I like hearing a clock on my wrist". On other occasions when I go out to dinner or am dressed up for work I usually wear my Sub. It's a really hard thing, and its even harder if you decide to own both. Hmmm what to wear today... Just my $.02 for the day Cheers, Peter
wolverine 0 Posted July 20, 2011 IM currently a happy owner of a NoobSub (16610) and am definitely eyeing a DSSD as my next purchase My only problem with the NoobSub is the weak-ass lume. Th lume is almost non-existent Is there a DSSD Rep with decent lume? Im hoping for Luminova-level, but anything decent should do Ill vote once I own both and can decently compare
djprone 0 Posted July 20, 2011 My vote goes for the submariner. It may not be as big as a DSSD, but a Solid gold submariner has loads more presence than any plain old DSSD.

MikeMcNair 0 Posted July 21, 2011 DSSD looks good, but I just dont like the black color, would buy it if it comes in blue color. Robeert sells a blue DSSD dude, and it's good too!!!
Luthier 1 Posted July 21, 2011 there you go... Wrong "10". Easy to replace insert.
MikeMcNair 0 Posted July 21, 2011 Funny you should mention: I see this watch EVERY day, have put both the wrong 10 and GEN next to eachother, and the difference is so mineut it's funny. Of course I HAD to have the correct 10 bezel, but damnit, we need someone to actually photoshop them OVER eachother for all to see.
prestigewatchco 2 Posted August 3, 2011 For me the sub is better although I find that a little action man for some occasions as well. I actually bought a Gen DSSD about 18 months ago but only kept it a couple of days it was just too clumsy for me seemed difficult to keep it in the right position on your wrist. Just too thick and band seemed to narrow
Amit 72 Posted September 14, 2011 yea i find mine to be too top heavy. i always find myself coming back to my sub. I always will love it

Ollifl 0 Posted September 23, 2011 I had to vote sub, I do have both but it seems out of all the watches I keep having the sub on my wrist most often, especially SS, I do have a few other colors also but the traditional is the only one I use constantly
tesmith2112 0 Posted September 23, 2011 I have both. The DSSD has much more wrist presence due to it's size but there are times that I want to be more subtle so the Sub comes into its own for those occasions. Both look great. Buy both! +
