Hello guys, bitten by the PAM bug

Recommended Posts

Stormspeed

Hello guys.......Ok been reading a few different forums and checking out lots of different watches. I have to say I am in love with Panerai. Wanted to ask what the general consensus was on where to buy my first rep. Checked out replicamade and timesshop. Both have nice inventory but replicamade seems to have cheaper prices. Does the cheaper prices=cheaper made on replicamade? Hesitant to shell out $278 on my first purchase but am willing if the product is worth it. I really like this model Regatta. I read in a post here that this model comes with 2 leather bands as well but does not mention this in the link.

Ready to purchase!!

HI Stormspeed, Welcome! I'm new here too and just received my first Pam and I am so shocked at how beautiful it is. The cost is due to the 7750 movement, I hear it's temperamental but more accurate to the genuine. It's truly a sight to behold.

I ordered this ..

It's supposed to be temperamental only if the basic movement has a module added to transport the seconds from the natural position at 9 to elsewhere.

The module introduces friction and hence has a higher failure rate.

That's a beauty, does it come with more than 1 band?

I have great Regatta from Mary on rubber, and new style Regatta from Robert. Both are best dealers, and Mary's prices are unbeatable.

I even managed to attach SS bracelet to both, looks much better now.

Dan, your Regatta is Rattrapante model, with faux split seconds, so, pusher on 7 o'clock doesn't work. But dial is beautiful. Mine is Flyback.

Hello and Welcome to RWG. You found the best watch forum.

There are far worse things in this life than the PAM bug.

The problem is that if you try to break the addiction, even the Rolex twelve step program can't help. :vader:

I'm afraid Nisv is right. There is no cure for the PAM bug/addiction.

The good news is that there is symptomatic relief...it's called buying more PAM's.

Great watches and nice photos gentlemen.

All the Best

;)
