ZellerFTW 0 Posted May 11, 2011 Was at a college baseball game this evening wearing my rep Rolex Day-Date II I purchased from TimesShop. At one point, someone in the area had a pager go off. It was the old school pager sound like a doctor would have. Could have been a mobile phone with a custom alert sound. Who knows? About two rows back, I heard someone say to his buddy: "It's probably that guy wearing a Rolex to a ballgame... probably his..." LOL! Anyone else have any similar stories? When I sat infront of them, I have noticed like one girl notices that I have rolex and give bumb with an shoulder to next one to notice also. Scavolas 0 Posted May 11, 2011 Well, that is the point with Rolex and Rolex reps -- unwanted, unsubstantiated hype and snobbism, the very reason I never would have wanted either a gen or a rep Rolex, anyway. Additionally, there are much nicer, more complicated, savvier-technically watches around, with very decent reps that would catch the eye of anyone who has a taste for nice things without the stupid cliché of "he wears a Rolex he must be a wealthy focker" -- one of the worst stereotypes that is is so hard to allow identifying myself with. My 49mm Omega Railmaster from Mary gets a lot of looks and comments however I'd believe it. It almost certainly it depends on where you are and what the norms are. It's funny, I noticed a tiny scratch on the crystal and freaked out. I couldn't figure out how it happened. I looked under a magnifier and realized it WAS A ROLEX CROWN ETCHED INTO THE CRYSTAL.
