Wiz 0 Posted May 12, 2011 trksh-bzr sent me his fiddy for repair, so I took a few pics in the process Just after making sure there was no force on the mainspring, I started the disassembly by removing the hour wheel and cannon pinion. I forgot to take pics of these first steps, so the first pic shows the movement with the balance wheel assembly out. Then I removed the pallet bridge and pallet fork. Crown wheel, ratchet wheel, click and click spring out. Bridges out. Center wheel and barrel out. Took the decond wheel, third wheel and escape wheel out. Here is the broken escape wheel, the reason why the movement wasn't working properly. Keyless work out. Brand new ETA escape wheel. Started reassembling. Escape wheel, third wheel, second wheel, center wheel, little bridge, and barrel. Large bridge. Barrel bridge. Crown wheel. Click, click spring and ratchet wheel. Keyless work reassembled. Pallet fork and pallet bridge. Balance wheel assembly: assembly complete! Thanks for watching!
mspangl 0 Posted May 12, 2011 Lovely pictures mate and great work ! I don't know why but the balance wheel and the escape wheel are the favourite parts of a movement

Drhulee 0 Posted May 13, 2011 How do you flatten and polish your CPs? This is not a difficult job, it only takes a little time I've tried it a few times. The first few went great, but then I came across what, I suppose, was a cheap Asian H3 CP. When I started to file the top of it flat, it revealed a dark inner core that I never managed to get polished up
