Intresting 21,712 Posted November 26, 2019 The only $1500 reps I know of are frankens and mods by specialists with vietnam and other gen parts. Is interesting the OP has studiously avoided answering what his $1500 rep is. Maybe its an Aligate special with OP-mods valued at $1350 that caused the watch failure. I've had no contact from him and I have no intention of contacting him. I'm happy to leave it to run its course, confident it will be sorted eventually. Perhaps where he is based is 12 hours ahead of UK time and he can't find the fault? Was it an expensive rep?

Its not a bloody joke. It really does change at midday. Rolie is going to have to remove the hands and reset it. Now you have to work out why this is a genuine fault. black263 228 Posted November 26, 2019 Both wrong. Now why does my watch change at midday and not midnight?

I've honestly never heard of this assembly fault before.

Rolie told me to always advance your watch wth the hands set to 6 a.m. when setting the date. Think he said all the gears /cogs are out of the way then. Do it force of habit now. Nothing wrong with the mechanism. The hands have been put on wrongly, which is why Rolie is going to take them off and put them back correctly.
black263 228 Posted November 26, 2019 Do sharpen up guys. Think how I can tell whether the watch is reading 12 midnight or 12 noon.
GingerApple 7,301 Posted November 26, 2019 The hands put on it the wrong order? But they shouldn't fit the pinion like that.
black263 228 Posted November 26, 2019 I'll give you a clue. It's an early Rolex and Rolie has to take all 4 hands off to sort it.

And when all 4 hands point North, it's midnight and nothing happens. When hours mins and secs point North, but the non-adjustable 24 hour hand points South to midday, the date changes over.
