GenTLe 1,511 Posted May 6, 2020 Split "corne de vache"? Considering "corne de vache" (cow's horns) is this one: But I prefer more "pair of female legs"

RussP 22,655 Posted May 6, 2020 Horny looking lugs. Alex is spot on with his post. Is that watch a recent acquisition? @OLDBLOKE74

OLDBLOKE74 7,109 Posted May 6, 2020 Horny looking lugs. Alex is spot on with his post. Is that watch a recent acquisition? @OLDBLOKE74 Yep - bought on eBay for £240 this week - the case is gold ; looks original and untouched ...and it’s relatively large for a 50s watch so it’s a keeper I think
OLDBLOKE74 7,109 Posted May 6, 2020 Love that VC , never come across that model before 10 hours ago, GenTLe said: "corne de vache" I have another similar ... Yellow gold not rose gold this time .... I think I prefer the Doxa now but will probably keep both - these vintage pieces will not lose value even in a pandemic, better than money in a bank

Swiss_goupil 275 Posted May 7, 2020 I fancy a vintage watch for some time now, maybe a chrono (with a landeron 48/148/248 as valjoux seem already overpriced) any general pieces of advice for buying on eBay? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
OJHorology 352 Posted May 7, 2020 My oh my...this might be the radium I'm looking for. P.s. I would strongly suggest not to open that watch up...
OLDBLOKE74 7,109 Posted May 7, 2020 Wow just been reading up .... the radium in that watch has a half life of 1600 years ! I have lots of vintage watches and it seems a lot of them will have radium present even if the lume has gone ........ The radium emits alpha radiation which is airborne and not good to breathe - thank you @OJHorology - maybe a bit late but I will be a bit more careful in future !!
