I've lost me pearl/pip....

Recommended Posts

Took the dog for a walk in the park earlier. Whilst playing with the mutt, and I suddenly notice that the pearl/pip has fallen out of my ARF SD43!

Does anyone know a good place to source a replacement, and also, what glue is best to use? Superglue isn't really waterproof is it?

Photo below of the culprit and the damage he caused....

A minimal amount of this will work to fix a new one. Remember that it takes 1 day to fully dry (with 15/20min working time) and if you put too much of it, you can remove it while still not hardened with isopropyl alcohol (but that would probably also impact on the paint inside the triangle where the pearl is located).

. For the pearl try asking your TD

I was thinking maybe a two part epoxy glue might be best.

Thanks for the heads up.

I have just found an old dead Submariner I got from the gate in my drawer that I think I might be able to bastardise... it has a decent looking pip, with blue lume....

Check Ebay. They've got plenty of pearls for sale. Look to run between $15-$30 on the low end.

Now the glue is "semi dry", I can scrape the excess away from around the edges in the triangle.

Prob look ok on the wrist, I just won't take any more wristie photos of it! haha!

I had this happen to a Deep Sea. I bought a few Pearl's off Ali to have some spares. Be sure to get "for ceramic" if you do this, the hole is smaller. I used super glue in a bottle that dispenses very tiny amounts.

It is ABSOLUTELY RUINED...you might as well sell it. To me. Heavily discounted.

Ah, good tip will keep that in mind.

@Simonix show us the end result, looks decent already though.

Now that you've messed it up, send it over to me:D

I'm sure you're going to buy about 20 more watches during this weekend :giggle:
