Gen Omega clasp: friction pin diameter?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

a colleague showed me a damage to the wife's gen Omega quartz Seamaster professional made by their son:

and asked me for help.

Probably the "you that tinker with watches..." is the new "you that understand computers..." :D

Anyway, for sure there are at least 2 or 3 friction pressure pins/rivets to be replaced and maybe I will need to replace the broken clasp parts with rep parts (he doesn't want to spend 200+Eur for a new clasp...). I will be able to compare the parts with the clasp of my noob LMPO to see if they fit.

Does anyone knows the diameter of these Omega friction tubes? I still have to have the watch in my hands so can't size them now, but eventually I can start to get the parts.

Thanks, GenTLe

20mm length and the diameter.. well, never measured those but here is gen spec, perhaps you can find the diameter by googling parts number.

No you're correct: that one is a 40mm case, 20mm bracelet and it's not a quartz is an auto. I got it today. It was from her father, hence the masculine size.

And, thanks to your codes, I've found a version with them also referenced to the parts: http://www.phfactor.net/wtf/Omega/838_1503da825.pdf

Thanks!

For several years, I created and maintained a Wiki-based site called WatchOtaku.com. It was a fun exercise, and I still like how well wikis work for this sort of heavily-lined content, but as of Sep 2019 I've taken it down. I exported the entire site as HTML and am hosting it for your reference on my server. Most of the content is less relevant, e.g. current vendor lists, but perhaps after being indexed it might sometimes be useful.

Interesting find, this is a guy who really likes lists!
