3646 Deco wired on Nero Ammo

Recommended Posts

Finally - Sorted :nana:

Managed to bag this 3646 Deco with modded 618 type 1 style mvt. Dial is crazy.

Wired lugs so fancied getting a nice custom ammo for it.

Stepping up was @JohnG Nero straps, few emails and he was kind enough to custom make one to my length with just the ends needing finishing.

He also supplied me with extra thread, glue needed and a couple of extra keepers I requested.  What a guy :  )

A  special occasion watch now, I'll let pics do the talking.   Thx for looking.

He knows his onions for sure.

Mvt clinched it for me as he's the only modder doing these as far as I'm aware.

That's awesome. Why have the strap unfinished though?

Wow, really stunning, especially that strap, a true work of art.

What is this "DSN's website" if I may, I assume a modder from another forum? May we get a linky link please?

Also, since GC may have confused our Ginger above with his thoughtful sentiment, let me right the wrong. It's a fixed lug you feckless numpty! :slap:

I know I feel better now.

Beautiful stuff man. I'll have to look into custom straps for some of my Panerai, it really sets it off.

What a kerfuffle though! I think I'd prefer to send the watch to JohnG and let him fix it in place cos I imagine I'd fuck up the stitching and end up with something that looks like Frankenstein's monster.

My brain cell still isn't working too well though. I can see (in hindsight) the short strap needs obvious stitching, but the long side seems complete already before it's put on the watch. :ohwell:

Both sides needed finishing ( Glue & stitch )  but I'm quite happy to do stuff like that as I've got the tools/needles etc.

10mins saddle stitch and it was done. JohnG had already made the punch holes so a dab with an awl and it was ready to go.
