processengr 13,529 Posted July 29, 2020 Just got this in from Mary. Totally missed this on the QC photos. (Thought it was the angle). How hard to correct? I have shifted a few 'Gate SMP inserts by heating with hairdryer and using wood stick against pearl, but this pearl is almost flush and this insert is ceramic.... Rokerite 2,484 Posted July 29, 2020 Stand the watch face down in a jam jar lid filled with hot water making sure the water doesn't go higher than the crown. May take a few goes and take a while but it will soften the glue holding it in and you should be able to prise it out without damaging it as you will be feel that it can spin in the assembly. Worked for me but no guarantees if you damage it
Bill_C 148 Posted July 29, 2020 TBH, unless you pointed it out to me I'd have never known. That doesn't look bad to me at all, but that's just my opinion.Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk

I don't think moving it will solve anything. Manufacturing problem
BadPickle 2,802 Posted July 29, 2020 It’s a bezel making from factory, look how far off 3oclock is compared to 6oclock You’ll never get that to line up. Clearly someone has forgotten it’s a rep

J!m 289 Posted July 29, 2020 May be the dial that's rotated... I'd leave it alone, unless you know what you're doing.
GingerApple 7,304 Posted July 29, 2020 To all of you noobs saying there's nothing wrong with it, fuck me you're noob dumbasses!!! The alignment issue isn't with the pearl in relation to 12 o'clock. The alignment issue (which is obvious and massive on OPs watch) is that the pearl should sit in the middle of one of the flared scallops on the bezel as below. It doesn't, it's way out. Fucking noobs. Or did I use one 'o' too many?

k4jun 251 Posted July 29, 2020 VSF ceramic bezel assembly is the same as MK or BP ceamic bezel assembly - insert is glued to the bezel, bezel is kept on the case with a squared bezel retaining spring. First, try to heat the insert up (hairdryer) is the glue won't let go you need to pop the bezel off.

processengr 13,529 Posted July 30, 2020 Mary is helping me on this, hopefully get bezel assembly. The dial is not shifted, that is the angle of the photo. Even if I move the delicate insert, to align with the scallop peak, then the triangle will not align with tick mark. Appears to be in the machining of the bezel. processengr 13,529 Posted September 8, 2020 Yes, I think the only solution is to remove bezel (my homemade bezel removal tool kept slipping off) boil in water, remove insert, clean adhesive and try agin... My attempt to submerse just bezel area in 194F water for 2 minutes, fixture watch and lock bezel failed to loosen insert enough to shift. Pearl ended up coming out though... Better quit while the watch still functions...hav to put pearl back though...
