herdpm 518 Posted December 27, 2020 I'd like to try switching the hands on this watch. On a scale of 1 to 10 how hard is this with rudimentary tools? Sent from my SM-N976U using Tapatalk
deju 1,889 Posted December 27, 2020 Panerai easy, this one hard.... they look very fragile
Flinnt 2,009 Posted December 27, 2020 It depends. If you’re experienced at incredibly fine motor work with your hands and have the right tools, it’s a piece of piss, a 2.16. If you never do fine motor work and your rudimentary tools are a fucking big hammer and an electric drill, then 9.34. Or anywhere in between.

Bill_C 148 Posted December 27, 2020 Define "rudimentary tools."If you mean basic hand pulling/setting tools, 3 or 4. If you mean basic " 'round the home" tools... 8 or 9.You can pick up the most basic of hand pulling and setting tools on eBay for less than $20... sometimes less than $10. Well worth the money. You could also use some tiny screwdrivers to lift the hands and some plastic to protect the dial, then use an old retractable ball point pen to set the hands... not my preferred method. NCRich 13,803 Posted December 27, 2020 For me, its a 2. For the ferret, a 9. For you, who knows. You need a tweezer, hand puller or levers, and a bic pen refill or hand set.
Thinwrist 66 Posted December 27, 2020 (edited) I say a 3 If you have some experience, the tools and watch a how to video. Without the tools and at least a home made dial protector it is easy to damage things. the presto tool would probably make removing those easy these are cheap and probably not great quality but would help make the job easy. https://www.amazon.com/OTOOLWORLD-Watchmaker-Presser-Plunger-Remover/dp/B0748HZTMH/ref=asc_df_B0748HZTMH/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=309760755042&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=7829627149120685906&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9007251&hvtargid=pla-493213970065&psc=1 Edited December 27, 2020 by Thinwrist added link
BadPickle 2,802 Posted December 27, 2020 Is 10 the easy or hard score? I say if you have to ask then you have no chance.
