Hey all ! :D

How to remove scratches from polished hands ?

That is an question. I tried cape cod cloth, but that is not possible so small hands and so hairy cape cod cloth..

If this is only option, I would be glad to see some video about the technique used.

Thanks guys !

easy, you can scratch the hands when you manipulated with them, and more you play with hands, more possible that you will make a scratch. I have few hands that I have stored from my first moddings, I want to use them in future moddings.

I will try some compound to remove scratches from car lacquer.

Your hands are the watch hands biggest enemy

Very difficult to remove scratches and bear in mind most rep hands are only coated

Ken, I just intentionally scratched a hand to show ya how this goes...

These hands are polished (although reflection in one pic looks black)

Hand before....

Hand with scratch from razor blade (notice line on bottom right) ...

Hold hand with tweezer (or if too small, simply place hand on a towel, it will stay)

Using 1500-2000 grit sand paper on your finger tip, gently move in smoothe strokes in ONE direction, and viola! Scratch gone!

Another trick is to use toothpaste, as it is very mildly abrasive and works wonders on a Q-tip.

Hope that helps.

Ps, be prepared to lose some lume, but reluming a hand that's NOT scratched is better than having scratched hands with lume

Very nice ! I must finally buy those small grid sand papers !! Thank you very much Mike, will try it. I already tried to brush the top layer, but how I said, if it is chrome plated, you will get yellow/gold hand instead mirror stainless steel. But thank you for the tip, will try it.
