sonicd0012 0 Posted June 15, 2011 (edited) Was wondering what you guys thought about watches that contains a flying tourbilon? Which is the nicest you think ? Anything special about it? Is it a real tourbilon on a rep? $518.00 $688.00 $118.00 not a real torbilon $778.00 Edited June 15, 2011 by sonicd0012

SB56667 155 Posted June 15, 2011 I like both skeletons and tourbillons, but you'll find they aren't particular favorites on this forum. A lot of folks here don't like them for one pretty good reason: all but the most expensive the reps are generally way off from the gens. Skellies don't let you hide your sins behind a dial, and though there are real tourbies on reps, as you've seen, fake tourbies are a little silly, I think. They're not even remotely close to what a tourbillon actually is or does -- they're just something that moves, in the same position that a tourbillon is supposed to be. It's a little like having hands that looks like hands, but are actually painted onto the dial. So on one hand, there are those issues. Then there's this: ...or this: If you like the Breguet tourby reps (the real ones), find a model at someplace like Trusty Time and write Mary at Watch International asking if she can source it. Not too long ago she had a really gorgeous one for sale -- maybe the one in the Trusty Time pic? -- for about $700.

Rest - real tourbies. I also don't like skeletons and tourbies, why need to see the guts? Mesmerizing to watch it? Especially if you walk or drive? Good luck. greg_r 83 Posted June 15, 2011 Yes, the watches you feature are real tourbillons. They're very high quality movements. The real issue, however, is getting them serviced. Hardly anyone is prepared to touch the things as they're extremely complicated.

Bosox 0 Posted June 15, 2011 Gotta say I love that Hublot......and here is my JLC.... Surely, not an every day watch, but I love that JLC. Clean and elegant. How long have you had it and how often do you wear it?
mspangl 0 Posted June 15, 2011 I've considered flying turbillons a while ago.. Was really tempted since I love that movement and it's very very unique.
