oberblender 0 Posted June 17, 2011 Finally I took some pics next to my gen, as I promised for quite some time now. As you can see I am unfortunately not a very big photographer... I hope you get an idea anyways. So enough said... let the pics speak! This watch has almost no flaws and is really 1:1. I will point out the few minor flaws I found right below the pics. As you can see, the alignment of the inner bezel numbers is a little different. The indices of the gen are a little more centered. The biggest difference I can see having both watches right next to each other is the dial color. The rep dial isn't as silver as the gens. It has a little brownish/golden shine... but you can only see that having both watches right next to each other in strong light. (The next pictures shows the color difference a bit better) Rep dial has a slightly different dial color. closeup of the subdials... (both brushed) no obvious flaws. Couldn't find any flaws from the side... looks identical. Maybe the engraving of the gens crown is a little better, but you'd need a loupe to see a difference. The back is also very very well done. I can't tell you anything about the engravings, since my gen is a competitors edition with different engravings. The caseback print is very crisp and well done on the rep, so I can't tell any difference between rep and gen. Maybe the gen's print is a little better, but again... no chance to see that without a loupe and having a gen right next to it. The strap is pretty good too and has the same vanilla scent as the gen. It is very smooth and feels as the gen strap. As you can see, the tire print of the gen strap is a little more detailed, but I wouldn't spend the extra money for a gen strap since they still are very much the same. The engraving of the clasp is not stamped but embossed on the gen. As far as I know the stamped clasp is correct for the deployant, however, so no flaw at all. Lumeshot after about 20 seconds below a 100W bulb. Pretty much spot on, if you ask me... Lumeshot after about 2 minutes without light. The rep lume fades a little quicker... but not much... The lume of the gen isn't very good either... No super lume at all! There is a weight difference of 13g. The rep is 13g heavier. The reason for this difference seems to be the deployant, which weighs about 15g. If I had identical buckles the weight difference wouldbe max 2-3g. The movement sounds exactly as the gen, winds like the gen and even has the little fine regulator as a gen 7750. That's pretty much all I can tell you about the Mille Miglia GTXL 2007. In conclusion this rep really IS a super rep!!! I can really recommend buying it. It is worth every penny. The difference to the gen is really small! If you have any questions about the watch, feel free to PM me. :P Hope you liked my review, despite my poor photographic skills!

ImWatchingYOU 0 Posted June 17, 2011 (edited) Great comparison, and excellent pictures. This is the 40mm version? Great size, it's this watch right? http://www.timesshop.net/product.php?id_product=1390 or is there a better version out there? Nisv 0 Posted June 17, 2011 Hi Ober, thanks for the review I have a 1000 Mille Miglia GT XL Chrono in Rose Gold ( http://www.replica-watches-guide.com/forum...st&p=232678 ), so it's good to see that the rep is not too far away from the gen :P
ImWatchingYOU 0 Posted June 19, 2011 (edited) Guys, is this the same watch being reviewed here? (apart from being the 2009 model) http://www.replicamake88.com/products/CP01...-7750-GREY.html And what is the difference between this one? (over 100$ difference in price) http://www.yourtrustytime.com/index.php?ma...roducts_id=2259 By looking at chopards website, the gen is 44mm in diam and 14.36mm thick. ReplicaMake's model is 16.5mm in thickness, therefore wrong. Trusty's one is too expensive. Can anyone suggest where to look more? jonnyboy 0 Posted June 19, 2011 The strap is pretty good too and has the same vanilla scent as the gen. It is very smooth and feels as the gen strap. Wait, what?! They put a smell on the strap? Is that so people can still have one sense left after paying for a Gen?
Del 4,470 Posted June 19, 2011 Great thread! I really like this model - must check it out!
oberblender 0 Posted June 20, 2011 (edited) Thanks for all the nice comments! Actually I didn't buy the rep from a dealer, but used from a member over at replik.as . I think this would be the version to get: http://kingshowbox.com/goods-6017.html I know there is a second one available which is even more expensive... (the old one 2007) (http://kingshowbox.com/goods-800.html) I don't know what the difference is besides the different caseback engraving. The more expensive one is the limited 2007 and the new one is the "non limited" 2009. If someone knows any more significant differences, please tell me!
