One reason is where and how the skins are made (factory or artisanal dressing of hides). If you buy a $60 crocodile leather strap, it means it's made from illegally poached skins. I'm going to get a couple different style straps out of that ray, do you think you can make something super modern and simplistic like this? Not for a Rolex of course, but I really like this look.
