Wobbling Stop-Hand on Quartz-Chrono

Recommended Posts

cobn

Hey guys,

just recieved a brilliant looking tag heuer carrera with quart and working chrono but only one thing

bothers me:

the stop-timer-hand is a bit wobbly. about 1sec. if you bent or tilt the watch, the hand jumps/moves about 1sec.

to the left and if you bent it again, it jumps back to its previous position.

any idea how to fix that problem?

looks like the hand is a bit loose or some gear might not work the way it should work

best regards

lars

Yeah, quite annoying, but I have drawn my consequences, next time I make sure the watch doesn't have any of those flaws.

Well, in that case, open it and see if the hand is maybe just a bit loose on the canon. I guess that won't help much, but if you are lucky, maybe, maybe that's all you need to to....

You need to take out the stem and the ring that holds the movement. To release the stem, you need to press a small button. Best is to check what movement you have and just do a quick google search to find the right button :thumbsup2:

the longer i look on the wobble-wobble hand the more i would throw it in the trashcan. my A7750 works like a charm. man the rest of the watch is awesome.

AND I CANT PULL OUT THE STEM FOR GOD SAKE!

btw: you could try using some tippex on the rotor

to correct the "engravings"

you need to get that black bad engraving with faux gears off to see the movement...

like you would want to change the batter on it

for god sake there are 5 screws but i dont have a screwdriver this small. i just built that shit together and if my father likes it - cool - if the stop-hand bothers him -> trashcan. lesson learned.
